3 Years Off, Starting again!

Hey NS,

It's been around 3 years since I've really skied (i.e. more than 5-10 day in a season) and I'm looking to get back into it. I could really use some good recommendations on skis. Looking to learn some park stuff but also to go out with friends on groomers and possibly some backcountry with other friends. I'm 5'7" and 112lbs (yes, I know I'm light and yes, i've tried everything including big macs for a month)

Thanks

It's nice not to be the only short one. I'm 18 and the only weight I've gained in a year was 5lbs from all the PT Idid on my reservist BMQ this summer

im 15 years old 5ft7 and 115pounds i ride surface no times 162, they seem to work good. i never bother too mutch with bindigs i just get a pair of marker squires AND AVOID THE FULLTILT HYPE there really not that good and overprice ive owned a pair and the buckes break all the time id advise using a boot fitter, and dont base anything on looks

also ignore dicks who call u a gaper every time u crash an a feature because ive been skiing for 5 years and still get called a gaper

My personal preference: Rossignol/Look bindings or Tyrolia Peak series (since you're so light you'd probably be looking at the Peak 12 but it does depend on your ability as a skier - if you come from a racing background and go super hard, you might be more interested in the Peak 15).

And you have no idea how to ski powder. I would recommend the el Rey also. Mount at recommended with maybe griffons or you could probably get away with squires I

Armada has some great all mountain skis. I rode the AR6 for 2-3 years and I could take them almost anywhere. They weren't greatest for deep powder but I live on the east coast so they were a solid ski for me. As for bindings if you're just starting up again then grab some rossi 120s or possibly solomon STH 12
