2pac performs at coachella!

I got chills at the end when he vanished into thin air, that was insane, mustve been a little tough for all the people watching who really knew him. especially snoop

Nah fuck this, the experience will never be like a real pac show no matter how well they do the hologram. By doing this they are boiling down a personality to just his songs and his stage presence. That is a small facet of Tupac's appeal. Tupac was a poet and a revolutionary who gave a voice to people who didnt have one before, not just some dude who puts on a sick show

Few things, first, it's not a hologram like you see in star wars, it's a projection from a series of mirrors and glass, like you'd see in Scooby Doo. Secondly, the projection of other dead musicians would give a really dry feel to concerts. Since they're just projections, interactions are limited. So seeing someone like Jimi or Cobain (who'd probably be rolling in his grave at the thought of it all, ) they'd be set, no improvs or 10 minute jams. However, you can probably project Van Morrison, and no one would be the wiser.

This technology is actually extremely simple.

All they did was project his image onto a black screen (which is expensive as fuck since it's made out of a certain material) from in front of the stage so that snoop could walk around either behind it or in front of it (cant really tell where he is) without disturbing the effect. That's why you can kind of see the dim lights behind shine through Tupac.

It's interesting they were able to do that, but I don't like it because Tupac is dead and therefore can't control how his image is used. I know his image is probably owned by a company who can use it how they wish for profit, but I still think its not kosher.
