270s on

do it on a box, stare at the end of the box as soon as your on, try it on shorter boxes to start with. and try to spin centered

Make sure when you pop, jump really high and bring your knees up after you set your spin so that you have control, that might be your problem.

actually, I would disagree. This works for some people, but I found that if you concentrate on jumping high, you end up falling. I found a ride-on style box and tried barely popping. Since you have less time in the air, you naturally dont rotate the whole 270 degrees, but your brain naturally turns your skis to catch the rail. Then as long as you remember to keep your feet shoulder width apart (or wider) you should be fine.

not that any one way to do it is wrong, but sometimes a different approach helps. good luck man.

i can 2 in onto little boxes and rails. down boxes but i want to try it on a down rail. but getting on street. im really scarde to try it what should i do to help myself get over the fear to just try it.

That would be me, I am a snowboarder, but I'm starting twintipping next year. Today was my second time skiing, (1st time I was 8), now I'm 14, but don't psyche yourself out, the spin came easy.

I think switch 270 is way easier. In fact, I think switch 450 is easier than foward 270... I just like being able to see the box... but maybe I'm just wierd.

you actually went through all that to try and be funny, but came out of it looking like a cunt. i hope you get sars.

and so as not to be a hypocrite, i find looking at teh rail as soon as you're on helps. i also try kicking my feet down as well to really stomp onto the rail. beware if you have sharp edges though!

yeah I have a really hard time doing 270s on. I kind of had them down last season, and i blew out my knee back in december, so I havn't had a chance to practice more this season. Like most people I have a really hard time sliding unnatural, so I was trying to spin to my right, but I spin left naturally so it's one or the other... Just keep practicing. Pay attention, really try to think about what went wrong, and why you're losing your balance.

yeah man whatever works for one may not work for another so it's a good thing you pointed out a different way to do it

start on a box and think about it like your doing a 180 plus a little bit more. also, for balance come in with a wide stance. its kind of a bad habit but i tend to pizza a little coming in for the speed check and that sets my feet up far enough apart that i can land completly back foot and still pull it through.

Get a backyard rail and you will learn them in one session.

Don't jsut huck it. You should know where you all at all times. Keep you eye on the rail.

pop and keep looking when your in the air your balance problem maybe under rotation, go into it thinking like your gonna throw a three that helped me, also like said above bring your knees up

i remember the first 270 on my buddy tried, he stuck it perfectly then some. 270 to switch up to 270 off, i was just like WHATTT!!?! then he couldn't get them next day ahahah.

anways, try sliding the box unnatty for a few times till you get that decently. next sack up and just go for the 270 on. i learned mine on a 25 ft. ride on-ish box and almost landed it first try. if you are sliding off to the left of the box everytime try starting out a little to the right of the box cause you are most likely moving in the air when you spin. oh and try not to catch an edge, i just caught an edge 270'ing onto a rail this weekend and my left hip is so fucking black and blue.

alot of people have said try them on a box first..i somewhat dont agree. try it on what ur comfortable. i can stick them on a rail but slide out on a box. my advice is to forcus on the rail. if u know u can get the whole 270 rotation then focus on locking the rail. i found speed is a lot of help too. i can be honest and say i tried on the same rail 40+ times till i finally held my slide. i even learned landing un natural slides. my friend told me somethin good too he told me that i know i can get the 270 so i gotta be ready for the rail. try on a smaller rail and work up. but first do it with confidence.

When i learnt them I would come up to the lip, wide stance. Look between my legs as i was spinning to see the rail land, and ride out the rail
