270 On Tips - Lip and Normal

Not trying to make one of those stereotypical "how do I stomp this trick" threads, but would love some tips/direction on how to make these tricks more consistent. I have landed 270 (spinning left) about 5 times this season, but I am wildly inconsistent. Just started learning Lip 270s this week.

What do ya got? Thanks!

I suck at them and have only landed a handful on rails, but what worked for me on down rails is to think about spinning a 180 and just push it a little further instead of thinking about spinning a 270.

Good easy advice right there ^

its easier to do them on like fat pills or big tubes. More to land on lock onto

Biggest thing that’s helped me is to not try to shifty the last 90 degrees of the rotation. If you didn’t have enough speed or pop, just accept it and try not to get hurt

you could've just texted me since you're my little brother lol

soooo to start off:

1. don't go parallel towards the rail (unless its a long high rail where you need quite the speed) , you'll have a really hard time to lock in and it makes the take off harder then it should be

2. what i personally do (it may or will be different for you , its preference) is that i go actually slower than with a regular slide , depending on the take off size towards the feature.

3. try to come in a quite the angled approach towards the feature, when ya spin left - left foot ankers (meaning he wont do too much then lifting up when you raise your legs)

4. right foot pressures inside edges , you wind up with your arms and you fix a point with your eyes where you want to land on that rail

5. elevate arms and upper body start spinning upon take off end they lead the way and simultaneously your feet do the "ollie" motion and then follow the spin of the upper body , look between your legs to keep track of the point where you want to land and keep ya feet shoulder wide upon landing. (makes locking and balance a piece of cake)

6. once you make contact with the rail , as mentioned lock with the leading leg, look towards the end of the feature and well then your free to do whatever you want.

i've attached a video here with "key stops" you can see me doing what i've mentioned above.

Good luck G !

When it comes top lip 2 , you'll pop so much harder anyway due to lifting of noses that hitting the feature won't be an issues rather than keeping track where you are , therefore focus on spotting the rail and where you wand to land.

excuse me tongue it's not native

PS: oh and if you happen to skateboard, you can literally think of the 270 on like a bs 180 , same motion almost

It was easier when I was 15 and didn't have to worry about embarrassing myself in public, but I used to 270 onto picnic tables and ledges and whatnot all the time when I was walking around. I always kept in mind how my skis would interact with the thing I was spinning onto, I.E. making sure my skis wouldn't snag the edge if I was actually on skis. This really helped me dial in how my legs and ankles and knees should be positioned when I took the trick to snow.
