26.5 boot with 171 ski

It doesn't matter but it might affect where you prefer to mount the binding on the ski. Although probably not in your case.
 
Nope, that super wierd man, didn’t you know height is irrelevant? If you have tiny feet you have to ride tiny skis and if you have big feet you have to ride big skis. That’s why you see people that are 6’3’’ but wear a size 6.5 shoe on 152 cm skis exclusively. Same is true of kids 5’8’’ but wear a size 11 shoe must ride a 210 cm ski.
 
I mean fuck even if it did, don’t you think most humans with a 26.5 boot are in a similar height range? Probably a collation between height and shoe size to an extent. You also could have just googled this.
 
Ski length is based on preference/height. Boot size is based on foot size. The two don’t really affect each other. For example I’m 6’1” and I ride 171cm tall. My skis reach nose height which I like. Your boot size doesn’t matter the boots should just fit your feet.

I'd guess you're 5'8'' and wear a size 9 US shoe?

What's weird about either of those? If you were talking about 24.5 boots and 192cm skis or 29.5 boots and 158cm skis perhaps that would be out of the ordinary.

I wear 26.5 and rode 170 last season but wanted to go to a shorter ski, so I bought a pair in 163 which some would say is too short for me. Ski length is preference and boot size is genetics.
