258 Pages of Evidence

Also, not sleep depervation but alternating sleep scheduals from night to day (infact it says in the memo 'not sleep depervation'), not physical hitting but restricted prods and jabs, slapping not to induce pain but to keep them alert, don't B.S. JD, you can make a good point w/o doing that

i really dont see why we should be extending terrorists who behead any american they can get their hands on rights, i agree with the person who said that we shouldnt give them the rights of the geneva convention when they sure as hell dont give it to the people that they capture those rights, and for the people that are buggin out about torture, the torture is nothing compared to what has gone on in the past

Oh really? Not sleep deprivation? Read your own damn memo.

''Sleep Deprivation: Keeping the detainee awake for an extended period of time.''

It says up to four days in succession.

As for the physical striking:

''A quick glancing slap to the fleshy part of the cheek or stomach.''

To keep them ALERT?!? Come on, you're not a dumb guy. You can read between the lines here, see what this really means. They can hit the prisoners. If anyone calls them on it... 'Oh, well I was trying to keep them alert.'' Bullshit. Don't tell me you believe that.

And before you tell me not to fabricate points, try actually going over what you're supplying as evidence.

ok sleep depravation and hitting prisoners is really nothing compared to what has gone on in past wars, like vietnam, im dissapointed that we cant do more to the terrorist leaders who would eagerly behead an american without a second thought

Hahaha, you're a funny guy. So since they did worse in Veietnam, it's ok now? That makes sense. They used to use the rack and the iron maiden a thousand years ago. Can we do that, since it's been done before? Seriously... the terrorists do bad things, so we should be allowed to? How is it at all different? Why is it wrong when they do it, but ok when we do ? You get really pissed off when this sort of atrocity is commited by terrorists, ie: beheading, and then say ''WE SHOULD BEHEAD HIM!'' Do you see how hypocritical you're being? It's wrong for them to do it, and it's wrong for us to do it in ANY capacity. Inhumane behaviour is inhumane behaviour, no matter who you're torturing, and it should not be condoned by a government that prides itself on being a 'moral authority'.

also it seems like people like you are so worried about human rights, when everyone that these rights are being applied to, the terrorists we are interrogating, are animals, yes if we were making laws that applied to everyone we wouldnt allow torture, but concerning terrorists who kill innocents whenever they get the chance, i dont even think we should consider them as normal human beings, stop thinking that everyone we are applying these rules to are normal people like ourselves, obviously we wouldnt allow police officers to do these kinds of things to people who had committed misdemeanors, but i would allow this to be done to terrorists whose sole purpose is to kill americans, and disrupt the progress of peace and stability in iraq

This is what I'm talking about from you people... a stark refusal to accept Iraqis as human beings. I'm sorry, but they are. They have basic human rights, whatever your prejudices might be, and those rights cannot be denied. There is no good application for relativism. If it's wrong to torture one person, it's wrong to torture all of them (if you want to argue in favour of relativism... you'll lose. Badly. See back one page).

wow did i ever say that all iraqis werent human beings, oh i think i did, and i also said that all iraqis were terrorists and they should all die, wait now i remember, i said terrorists werent human beings, becuase they kill innocent people and think that they are doing somethimg good for their cause, or whatever bullshit goes through their minds i dont know, but any terrorist who is willing to do something like that automatically loses his rights in my mind, and yes its wrong to torture an innocent person, but to torture a terrorist is fine in my mind, and i dont see why it bothers you, and on my other post i didnt say it was right to torture people because we did it in the past, i said the torture is nothing compared to what was done in the past, so at least we arent killing people, or actually torturing them, the problem with people like you is that you take things i say, and twist them around into something completely different than what i meant, and then see it as proving me wrong, so stop putting words in my mouth and actually argue against what i said

Yeah, if these terrorists are so dedicated to their jihad that they are willing to commit suicide while killing thousands of innocents I think they will have the will power and resolve to stand naked for 4 hours.

Terrorists (in this case, suspected terrorists) are still owed basic human rights. I'm sorry that you can't see that they're people. Yes! They are wrong! They deserve punishment! But not by sinking to their level. Argue against what you're saying? I did! If it's wrong to torture one person, it's wrong to torture any person. If you'd like proof that suspected terrorists are human beings, then I feel pity for you. Some of these people being interrogated are not good people. They are awful people. But they are people, and must be treated as such, or we're no better than they are.

Punishment you say, alright lets just skip the naked standing and skip directly to punishment, how about capital punishment, sounds fair, lets just kill the fuckers, finally a good idea.

Driving that Train

You're right, we should do that! Because executing enemy prisoners doesn't remind me of anything the terrorists have been doing. Also, considering how generally indifferent WE feel when our own soldiers are executed, doing the same to them shouldn't escalate the hatred on the part of the non-Americans at all!

(sarcasm meter= 9)

Seriously, the hypocrisy is rampant yet again.

well they can face the alternitive of being sent to afederal prison for an extended sentance, yet I don't think they would make it a week, that I would call torture. I find that a bullit in the back of the neck much more humane then a broom in the back of the ass.

Oh, and the terrorists, did they put their hostages on trial, yet we will. A little diffrent

A fair trial for war crimes, etc, I have no problem with. That's what should happen.

if you say that a horrible human being should have the same rights as a good person, then i can see why your so opposed to this, but it really makes no sense why we care so much about what is happening to horrible people who deserve all of what is being done to them, just consider this as part of their punishment

there are certain rights that all humans have, no matter what acts they have done, if they are human, they have those rights. Its not up to you to make decisions about who gets universal rights or not.

How can anyone possibly say that the rapping, beating and abusing of any human being no matter how bad they are is justified. The US specifically went into Iraq to help the Iraqi people, well that was after bush lied and attempted to convince people there were weapons of mass destruction. so if we disregard bush's lying, then we get the result of thinking that he went into Iraq to help them. Now in Iraq there is a formal military and then the citizens. Now initially the citizens were not very mad, but when they saw that a) museums, hospitals, schools, power plants, shopping stores, and many other civilian structures were destroyed they became just a little angry. Then when they found out that the only structures the US secured after the invasion was oil well. At that point im sure they realized that the US was there to help them, emulating the bests and most positive aspects of western societies (sarcasm). Im sure the Iraqis were really very impressed. Now that resistance has greatly increased as people go without basic human necessities and there children suffer, many of these people have nothing to live for and as a result will put there life on the line to help there country. Now that the US has proved its self to be the enemy of the middle east, and has taken to the practices of rapping, torturing beating, and abusing prisoners in all sorts of fasions, the iraqi's and the rest of the middle eastern and 3rd world countries and decided to do something. They see the hipocritical aspects of the US. There nazi like treating of prisoners. While the US once stood for peace, and truth, and justice, they no longer are perceived in that light.

They are seen as a group that is targeting the iraqi’s and all islamics, with the intent of wiping them out. This perception has not been wiped out in the prisons where iraqi’s are forced to accept Christianity and to be raped with lights. The “terrorists, a convenient word for the US to use so that they can avoid the basic rights all humans deserve, are now feeling threatened. There population has been attacked, there women and children, and now they feel that because they do not have the resources to fight the US military, and they feel that it is there citizens that have been attacked, they attack US citizens. The US has proved itself to be untrustworthy, lying, and it has stepped down to the level of the terrorists. Because the US is the most powerful, they must be the most considerate, and the nicest. If they want members of the middle east, and “the terrorists to change there ways and to seek a true solution and a better way of life, the US and the west must care, they must display honorable characteristics of the west, show the things that set us apart. The US will win in a winy schoolboys battle of shot for shot, where you hit us we’ll hit you back. While stopping terrorism and resistance may be achieved through a dictatorship of the likes of the Nazi regime in Europe, I ask if this is truly what the US proposes to do, and would like to do. The only other course is being the nicest, upholding high, good, true values, and doing what is right asopposed to working altierier motives and for other goals. The US has created a new Vietnam, one that will require great care and help to become a developing country that is not in the grip of chaos. Finally the US needs to admit they were wrong and begin to start working with the international community because the US will need all the friends it can get in the coming years.

One life. One world. Live, or die trying.
