24 Season Finale

...it's probably the best show on television.

It was alright... I think they're running low on ideas and have to come up with something completely new for next season... but I guess its hard seeing as theres not much terrorists can do other than blowing shit up, unleashing fatal viruses and kidnapping/assassinating people...

I was so into it this season...but when they brought Audrey back and changed to that plotline or whatever, I just lost all interest.

was the best show on tv* no way in hell you can say its better then lost, the shield, the sopranos, house, the office or entourage. it used to be amazing but this season was just bad.

cept sopranos sucks balls. in my opinion that is the most retardedly overrated show ever. at least lately, it's so boring nothing ever happens. except the bar stomping I guess that was pretty sick. but yea i'd rather watch entourage or the office than 24.

the best part about next january and the new season is they are finally moving away from LA, and i fucking hope to god its NYC cuz that will be so friggin epic.

out of all the seasons, this one was probably the poorest but still so god damn entertaining, i have a man crush on jack bauer

saaaaame. when the plotline changed halfway through the season 24 went wayyyyyyy downhill. like completely rediculous shit was happening and jack generally went crazy. the writers must have had nothing more to give halfway into the season because the storyline got too rediculous.

i liked it, but in recent seasons when there were multiple terrorist plots i didnt like it as much. i liked the earlier seasons more

i love the show but some things are crazy unrealistic on it. Usually i let it go to being tv but sometimes i get so pissed off at it

The best show on TV right now is Boston Legal, followed closely by House, but 24 is, despite its shallowness, right up there. In order to really have a chance at being the best show you need great performances, otherwise it's just mindless distraction: a Hugh Laurie or James Spader or Edward James Olmos or Sam Waterston or even James Woods (although his supporting cast on Shark is awful whereas BL and House are loaded with talent; see Robert Sean Leonard and Omar Epps for the latter). Those people make moments, which make episodes, which make series. Seinfeld is the perfect example. Shows like Lost are entertaining, but they're really the TV equivalent of those trash novels next to the greeting card section at the drug store. 24 does that better than anyone, though, so it certainly qualifies as good entertainment value in a Chuck Norris kind of way (shooting at Jack Bauer seems, to me, the worst possible idea in the history of bad ideas).

Still, that was probably their worst finale ever. Now, if Heller had shot him in the back and we'd cut to shot of him standing next to Charles Logan... that would've been interesting.

altho we all know that jack's dad is still alive, and he can wreak some sick shit for next season. but this finale was kinda poor.

Although I still watch, Lost is fucking retarded now. I'm thoroughly convinced that the writers of the show have abandoned any original plotlines they had and now have absolutely no idea where they are going. They make a huge deal out of answering three mysteries, and then open up eight more. Sometimes they kill characters without explaining the mysterious parts about them that draw people to keep watching. The show is going to go on for years, and they're not all going to get off the island. It's stupid... they will do anything to keep the show going because it's all about the money.

Never watched the Shield, so I can't comment on that. I've heard good things though.

Same for The Sopranos and Entourage.

House is also extremely stupid. The same thing happens every episode.

a) Patient in danger

b) House's cronies diagnose something incorrectly

c) House makes snide comments

d) House has relationship/mental/physical difficulties

e) House makes another snide comment

f) and another

g) House outsmarts everyone and comes up with some retarded answer to everyone's problems

h) House makes a few more snide comments

i) House is a hero

j) House House House... credits roll...

I've watched two episodes of the Office and didn't laugh once. I don't see what everyone sees in that show.

But 24 definitely needs something refreshing.

i'll bring this thread back to the 24 season finale.

it was alright. sure there was a bunch of shit blown up (doyle opening that bomb was funny). but i didn't like how the end left it open for so much. i wish they gave you something to go off of to get you excited for next season. although i can't wait to see what next season brings.

If you enjoy TV or movies because they're plot driven, you're not showing that you have any taste. That's all I'm saying. Yeah, House is often formulaic, but that's not the point... the people are the point. Same reason Reservoir Dogs is one of the best movies ever made.

The only way I can explain this is to analogize and say, read Dinosaur Comics and try to figure out how it's managed to produce like 1000 fresh strips that are better than just about anything else online with the same damn panels every day.

I watched last night, i predicted they would call in an air strike before they did it on the oil rig, the show is pretty flawed, if they were really on such high alert they would have had air craft glore flying around, i don't know the show is just very flawed.. but i enjoy it,

explain to me why Jack always runs around with a 9 mm taking out 20 guys at once single handed, or what's Jacks Kill count since the shows started, he's got to be catching up to Chuck Norris by now...
