23 y/o shot dead for no reason.

Im calling it right now. the guy who shot will be on death row. the other 3 will be life without parole with option to go on death row depending on behavior in prison.
 
does "option to go on death row" even exist? ive never ever heard of that...that's basically euthanasia if someone asks to die by state authority, and that shit isnt legal, you have to be sentenced to death by someone else, it cant be your choice
also that victim's obituary says he was a skier...RIP bro, even if you were a once-a-year warrior at beaver creek or something
 
well depending on the state yea its possible. What they do to get out of that whole illegal thing is hold another trial, and convict them on whatever charge that will take them over the top of the original charge so they get put on death row. Go America.
 
that sounds like double jeopardy...you usually cant be re-tried for a crime unless it's an appeal, in which case your sentence can never go up. it can stay the same or be reduced, but it cant go up.
im not going to get into the nitty gritty here but it just sounds unrealistic. but im not going to go yes or no on this deal...im in law school, this is interesting and im going to ask about it, itd be kinda cool if psychos were doing this to get the death penalty in order to escape life sentences. ill let you know if i find something definitive.
but shit, all they gotta do to escape a life sentence is try to rob from me...hehehe.
 
well it's split between my roommate and i equally, so 5 each
we're collectors so that's not really a lot, especially in this state, and we figure as long as we have them and we live in a crummy neighborhood we might as well have a few loaded and ready to go nearby in case some shit hits the fan

what is even worse is the "for no reason" thing in the title.

people get killed in such cases over 10-20 bucks or a fuckin watch or so day in day out but apparently these cases serve a purpose...
 
Actually champ, those are also for no reason and had they taken a watch from him it would still have the same title.

But you're right, its "worse" than everything thats been posted.
 
hey charlene (since we are calling each other gangnames), jk, i know my statement was maybe not perfect. but you got what i meant. some dude getting killed for 20 bucks while begging for his life is as bad as some dude getting killed without getting robbed while begging for his life.

i was talking about media perception. i can totally see a headline using the "without reason"-thingy.

I hate to think like this, because it honestly sounds like a breaking and entering turned execution, but it sounds like if the victim just kept his cool things might have gone different. Just as advice, always keep your cool despite how scary the situation and never freak out a criminal. Give them whatever they want.
condolences to this kid though.
 
If you're counting Glocks only, then ten would be an accurate number.
