That’s bridging the gap between the 98 and 118

Aha I see, I guess they were too lazy to change the render ski then. Probably just a sender ti.

Is this the first rossi freestyle ski with airtip?

It’s an all new system from boa and stronger than anything they have ever made. It’s honestly crazy how good we can now make boots with the system!!

There's just no way this will work outside of BC/Skimo applications right? The boa buckle will get destroyed.

is it actually strong enough to tighten the toe/forefoot noticeably?

Yeah it actually allows the boot to wrap far better all around the foot. Buckles basically only put pressure on the top of the foot but the boa system allows us to build a boot which fully wraps and holds the foot so it’s not only more comfortable but also fits far better too.

Not sure if that is the one (although I haven't seen the catalogue yet) considering the black ops series got rid of the sender entirely name this year. That looks like a touring ski of some sort.

Rossi's naming scheme is so terrible. I was going to joke that that ski was the "Rossignol Black Ops Sender 110 Pro Ti Rallybird Special Edition" but to drop the Sender name from one line and then use it to designate an entirely different product line is just ridiculous.

I can't remember who said it but supposedly because Rossignol is huge in France, they want things that sound good in French first.

Correct; naming products for multiple languages is tricky. Them opting to put the 110 in the 'Sender' series seems odd to me, since I am almost 100% certain that's the 'Blackops 108' everyone's been waiting for (skinnier 118), which makes more sense as a Blackops ski than a Sender ski since it's twinned and pretty center mounted, but I imagine it has something to do with the fact that it'll be marketed more as a 'freeride' ski than a 'freestyle' ski. The protos were very forward mounted and reminiscent of the 118; way more tail rockered and symmetrical than the Sender Ti or Sender Squad. Only bummer (selfishly) is the lengths — I believe they're similar to the big-gap options of the Blackops 98. Though the 190+ model should be on your radar for sure. I think the announcement will come in late January or February.

Thanks for the info luke! Layup feel nice and rubbery like the Bo118?

Somebody’s got to have the rossi catalog to share soon

This. Brands will always make their products' names sound good in their home language/market first.

And this is especially true with the French. A person I know & trust attended last month's Dynastar international sales meeting in France (their big kick off of things 23/24) and Dynastar held the entire meeting in French. For an international sales meeting. With 15 or so different countries attending. That might help put things into perspective.

Getting a little more inside info on the competition eh ;)

Posted the link here a while ago but you can see the tip/tail/underfoot rubber damping in the construction pic and the sidewall height in the other pic so it’s flex pattern should be similar to the Black Ops 118.

Anyone know the heights of Chris Logan and Parker White? Might give an idea of ski lengths.

Short lol ? they’re both about 5’10” at the absolute tallest. Those skis are definitely that 186ish length

I’m hoping for a mid 180 length not a 182cm or 192cm like the BO 98 or MFree 108.

What’s the graphic gonna be? Loved the matte black simplicity of the OG BlackOps

Echo is a new touring specific QST 106

Really interested to see how much that thing weighs. That's been the ski I've most wanted to see from them, so stoked it's happening!

The French language thing even for an international audience is likely due to Toubon law, as the sales meeting is Commercial activity it must be conducted in French. Although I still think the reasoning for the name scheme still applies.

No, I don't think it's that. Lange did their same meeting that day in English and so does Salomon.

The ski boot boa version in no way is the same as a snowboard option. When I first saw it I asked the same thing and also how easy it was to replace as that always sucks on snowboard boots. The alpine version used on boots is a different beast entirely! It’s rad and lets brands build boots in an all new way.

I have an extremely high instep will this tech help me?

100% yes. I have a really high instep and wide foot and I struggle to buckle the instep but the boa system allows the boot to wrap so much better I don’t get any pressure now but overall a way better fit. It was feeling this years back that convinced me this system really would be a game changer for boots.

The global sales guys. They do Picture, DB, and some others

Interesting, I know that crew. Not surprised Marty grabbed that… they still doing Zagg skis or did they drop it?

New Max Moffatt signature armada ski?

Look at 0:30 in Armada's latest video. Could also be next year's ARV 86.

the new arv/arw graphics are awesome, abstract as hell. They're getting rid of the 96 and doing a 94 as well as a 100. Those two new ones are going to have a beefier new "wedge sidewall" for increased durability, saw a cross cut of it and it looks legit.

Any idea if the 106 remains the same? 100 and 106 seems like a bit of a close gap.

Nah, 100 is probably gonna be a wide park ski similar to edollo. 106 is more of a stiff freeride twintip.
