22/23 gear hype!

What are the thoughts out there on RMU? I've always generally liked their vibe, they run those sweet experience shops, but I just haven't run into too many people that are actually riding their skis or gear.

The Apostle 3.0 106 has been one of the most surprising skis I've gotten on in the past year. I had really bad experiences with the first generations of the Apostles but the latest one is just super playful, easy, and intuitive. YLE 110 feels super similar to me, apart from the radius. Very curious to try the new 116 and/or 121. Seems like they've turned things around well at that company over the past few years.

About the new Backland UL boots, is the cuff the same as the regular new Backland? Is there a possibility to attach a power strap without drilling a hole in the cuff? Very into the idea of having the boa system and a strap style buckle, but I also like a strap higher on the cuff.

Same cuff & shell. Different liner construction & cuff closure ("Speed Strap"). The new Speed Strap isn't officially transferable to an older boot because there are some pretty critical modifications to the cuff to make that happen.

So it's possible to attach a power strap to the UL if needed? (The one that comes stock on the new regular Backland)

Does anyone know if the Taylor Lundquist Pro Model boot is different from the mens boots in any other way than the graphics? Is it narrower or are there size limitations?

They look really dope and if buying this boot would in some way maybe even support Taylor and her skiing i would be more than happy to buy these as my next pair of kicks.

unless K2 is really gonna surprise us the spine and liner will be shorter and have a cut out to accommodate a feminine calf muscle

that blows cuz the colorway is so sick. it reminds me of one of my fave aggressive skate models. oh well

The Tbl will have a shorter cuff with the split in the back which helps it fit a lower calf muscle. We also use a shorter version of the same pro wrap liner found in the wallisch. From there I also changed the cables to be 10mm shorter than on the equivalent size wallisch boot. I heard a lot that women especially were switching to shorter cables so me and Taylor decided to just make the cables shorter to begin with.

Other than that the other specs of the boot will be the same as you find on the wallisch. So think of this as a wallisch set up out of the box for women.

Anyone hear any updates on when Atomic is releasing the new Bent line? I see some stores have inventory of next seasons stuff already. Just spent some time comparing the specs of the old Blogs to the new 110 and they are damn close. Thinned the quiver big time in anticipation of this ski.

They aren’t. Only available through the rep. From what I saw when we got the info only us, Cole sport in Park City, and backcountry.com will have them in the US

[tag=209275]@J_skis[/tag] what’s up with the escalator?

"Designed to turn the whole mountain into your personal playground, the new J Escalator ski..."

Just fucking around.

The Escalator is a narrower, more "every day" version of The Slacker that [tag=9020]@Ahmets_Brother[/tag] is engineering. We wanted something that would a) be a touring ski for days there isn't a foot of fresh snow and b) serve as a lighter option to our otherwise heavy all-mtn line with The Masterblaster and Hotshot. We're in the second round of prototyping now and I'm crazy impressed with how well they ski - both uphill and in-bounds. Super light feel on the foot, amazing carver, but still wicked slashable in the tail.

Specs:

132 - 102 - 123mm

169, 176, 182, 188cm

1,720g @ 182cm

17m radius @ 182cm

Well shit. I kinda dig this camo/tan colorway for bindings. Definitely something different but I’m here for it.

Forgive me if this has been posted but nordica's unleashed series has me feelin some sorta way. I like big tips and I cannot lie. Brings me back to skis of old where the tip/tail height of twins was massive and the roosts were stories high. It looks mad poppy with all that camber and it's got metal in it. I bet she fuckin rails. Love me some ez going skis that truck through the mank, stoked to try a pair.
