[tag=209275]@J_skis[/tag] has 2 new skis. One replacing the masterblaster. And a mystery on the second.

That mystery ski you speak of is our Fastforward at 92mm underfoot! We redesigned the Masterblaster to be even more versatile at 99mm underfoot!

the idea of Magnus on Line just feels wrong.

Well i mean i dont really see LSM leaving line after just signing with them in 21, and the fact that magnus was riding the same ski as him in Riksgränsen really points to him being on line now. I think magnus on a pair of blends or bacons would be pretty ill actually

Marker bindings also makes me think line. Same parent company and the Blends even have them advertised on their new packaging

Didn’t even know that was bob ross til I read your post and looked at the pic again, I think I might buy a pair of those idk, I’ve always wanted a j ski, but I def don’t need it…. Only thing I need is a swallow tail ski and a lt wt tour ski cause I get a heavy setup rn

Don’t forget there’s a deathwish tour, always has a different ts than the regular deathwish

DW Tour is perfect for the Voyager. DW 104, probably 1750-1900g in 190 is a perfect everyday dual purpose ski.

Agreed.

was just pointing out there’s a 3rd deathwish out there.

im currently waiting on voyager 14 restock

What does it look like Magnus and Lucas are riding here? Magnus doesn’t seem to be on a pair of ON3P’s and i haven’t seen a pair of all red line skis for 22 that Lucas is on.

feels pretty right to me considering most line skis are soft to all hell (in a good way) and he is a butta masta

lmao no conspiracy idiot that just a vid from 2019 where topher was still riding majestys

cmon dude idk what i'm talking about i just saw red skis and thought i'd share. i'm not an idiot i just didn't think about that ski being red that year. and i didn't mean a conspiracy i was thinking maybe it was some unknown ski company they were trying that made red skis or something

I saw that too. Immediately reminded me of the old rossi scratch FS WRS. God I thought those were the fucking coolest skis ever when Håtveit was throwing down on them back in the day.

Well. They are pretty similar. Built in the same factory.

idk how many times i'm gonna end up saying this but "built in the same factory" =\= "the same ski"

ski companies commission a factory to make a mold for them and to press the skis with this mold. The ski company designs the ski and gives the factory the design so they can mold and cut it out in the designed shape. They're not just rebranding the same shit another company is pressing. It's a unique ski.

Yeah but a factory is probably going to use the same materials and machinery for every ski right? Like Vishnus are made in the same factory as a lot of dps skis, if you hold them up next to each other you can definitely tell: same topsheet, sidewall, base etc. different design, same materials.

Apparently, it’s the old Da’Nollie mold they’re using.

I’m well aware of what is made where and how the process works. If you think there is anything special going on in this case your smoking some shit. It’s well known that it’s an old mold.

There’s an unnamed local company that makes skis through the NS factory. The employees are pretty open about them using it and have admitted to me their park ski is essentially a nomad 95. Unless there is something icelantic did that’s proprietary and protected by copyright or some shit, I don’t see why any other company using the NS factory can’t say “use that mold” or at least pretty identical dimensions…

Anyone know about Smith? Saw the Squad XL's were getting the mag treatment this year and before I drop money on lenses for the regular squads I would like to know.

Are you referring to JPI?

All the memes about using the phrase, “the whole mountain is your playground,” on this website and you still used it in your description? ??

ski companies will never stop doing this

I gotta be honest it sounds appealing lol

It’s just like listening to a broken record at this point though. JLev did a Ted talk and the literal title of the Ted talk is, “the ski industry doesn’t need more of the same thing.” I know he’s talking about actual skis but come on it’s such a played phrase that when I read it I disregard the ski because manufacturers are trying so hard to sell the versatility of the thing. What’s the shame in making skis that are good at one or two things, not, “making the whole mountain your playground”

Same. I’m at the point where I buy specific skis that excel in the particular area I’m skiing and that they were designed for, I’m not looking to ski the whole mountain with a 1 ski quiver, and what attracts me to a ski is its ability to out perform all others in a certain category. That’s what sells “me” and the few like me a ski. I don’t mind a trek to the suv to switch skis twice a day, and I do like an all mountain ski that can “do it all”, but if I’m playing I’m gonna grab a bacon, if I’m charging I’m gonna grab an mx or pro rider, if I don’t know what the hell im getting into I’m on the c98 or 108, tight chutes corvus, POW yle118, ice or groomer captis or stocklis, park I’m on the chronic,1st heli tour will be with a +10 ullr, tour on apostle ltd, my go anywhere playground ski is an apostle 98 wood

However skiers like us don’t sell skis, dads, families, tourists, jerries make up the masses, and need to think “their” ski is the best all over the mountain, and don’t wanna put much thought into buying, hell most buy off of topsheet looks let’s be real that’s what sells I guess.

Fwiw I in no way associate 4frnt with this type of marketing towards average skier, tourists, dentists and families, I find their shapes and topsheets more “core” if you will and marketed towards a narrower more “skilled” and knowledgeable type of skier.
