21/22 gear hype thread

Has line ever prototyped a whole ski with no logos only in northern Sweden? I feel like when they develop a new ski it’s usually with a current topsheet so that you can’t really tell that anything is going on.

Maybe they’re starting they’re own brand. Wasn’t really impressed with what lsm was doing on blends lol

Pretty sure I remember LSM teasing about an upcoming Line edit on his story a few weeks ago, doubt he's moved brands already. I'd say he's a pretty good successor to pollard (yeah I know apples to oranges) in terms of freestyle/surfy pow riding.

Could be magnus broke a ski/ripped out a binding and had to borrow some of LSM/Peybens for a day, but also wouldn't be surprised if he was moving away from ON3P, their park team seems pretty fluid these days

Yea cant really see LSM leaving line after only 5 months. And the fact that Magnus hasn’t posted since April 1st when he’s been skiing non stop really makes me think he’s been keeping something low key, like a sponsor change. I think that tip shape definitely resembles a pollard ski for sure and now that i actually look at the brake width and how wide it looks under Magnus’s boot it kinda just looks more like an Outline than a bacon.

Could be Åre skidfabrik in some way shape or form. They press for a few Nordic companies. Even RMU (not Nordic).

The tip shape does look similar to CMD’s ”the it”. Which is a swedish brand that stopped making skis last year due to the owners having different takes on where to take the company if I am right.

I don’t see enough sidecut for that to be a bacon, tips are huge on the bacon and rounder but that’s just my opinion

Definitely not an ON3P shape, wonder what magnus got going on. If Lucas is also on them, its safe to say its some sort on Line proto ski. All those pics are from Riksgransen, so there is no way Magnus lost his gear and had to borrow someones skis or anything like that so id say he was definitely given those skis by line.

But... imagine if line is recruiting the bunch for a next generation traveling circus squad that would be so ill

anyone know if peybs has been on them as well?

I’d bet my knees there’s no way that’s a RMU

I knew someone would zone in on that haha I didn’t mean they are RMUs. I just meant Åre skidfabrik presses for a lot of manufacturers so I could see it being a new company or a ski like CMD’s the It.

Roger that I see what you were sayin now. I’d personally really like to see something new from line, and I do think there’s a lot in common with line products in that pic, but seeing as who is on it I’m betting it’s an on3p, or maybe he’s just skiing with a friend who is testing a new ski for another company and this will be all we see of it from him.

I think that’s a Vision, that’s my final guess right or waaaay off we’ll see in the end I hope.

Looks like a bit too much tail rocket to be a vision, i have the 118’s and they’re only slightly a twin

Ya after I said that I took a second look, I didn’t pick up on the tail rocker, but I don’t see enough sidecut for a vision either... more and more curious every time some guesses or disproves one...

I’m going to take a guess and say it’s a new outline or new ski replacing it.

I hate to agree with this but I do. I'm hoping this mystery ski is an LSM pro model. Peyben has always looked sick on the blends but they just don't fit LSMs steeze for some reason

Fully agree, Lsm deserves a pro model, and I can’t help but think the canceled st Lucas was a factor in him leaving on3p

Deserve? Some of the most high profile skiers in the world don't have a pro model.

Don’t deserve ≠ doesn’t have. although the name of the ski doesn’t matter as long as the athlete can perform

Rebranding the pollard skis around LSM/the bunch would be super sick. LSM would be a great skier to re brand the pollard skis around.

"signature" anything is rather silly unless there's a material difference in the product that makes it unique. For a company to create a "signature" anything for someone, they need to be in the .1% to justify it. There's also a lot of risk. Signature products can also be alienating.

Clapton wrote hits on normal stratocaster you buy in a store.

Magnus and LSM skiied off the shelf stuff to develop the skills they have today.

No one builds their chops on signature stuff made for them.

Sry for the semi-rant. I just don't buy into any signature hype unless it's a completely unique and interesting product anyway.

A lot of it is hype to sell skis lol

Couldn't find an actual pic here's a screenshot from Jon McMurry's new video. They do look like they're probably spray painted now that I pause and zoom in

2022 Attack 17 GW and Attack 14 GW. They made the heel piece release “window” larger so you can see/adjust DIN with the binding open or closed and the AFD has also been improved to prevent any movement after adjustment. Weight is actually down 50 grams per pair vs the previous 16 and 13 DIN versions.

Know it’s been showed before but the new Oblivion line from Head. The Oblivion 94, Oblivion 84(the Caddy?) and Oblivion 79(the Show?).

so bindings for grownups, but ski lengths for kids

We can't all be vikings.

I'm a huge fan of the Attacks generally and the small changes make them just that little more usable. I still don't love that the brake screws into the ski, but still my binding of choice.

beeing tall & skiiing sucks 100% of the time. how alex hall does it is an anomaly. Blew right knee last day of winter skiiing as well.. on crutches since, new MRI monday.... knees doesnt seem to be more solid with height either, so yeah, sucks 100% ;)

If the 184 was a true 184 like on3p and the guys do it it wouldnt be such a big deal, on non center mounted its not such a big deal, But lets admit it, skiiing skis taller than you looks cool.

big question is if greg will remount all his skis to get the 2022's... :D

2021/2022 Moment Deathwish family with the new narrow brother. Reminder hearing 104mm underfoot but full specs coming out the end of the month.
