Late to the party here, but I can confirm they definitely are/were a prototype of a new ski. I don't have any new info whether or not that ski will release in '21-22/ever... but there were at least a couple of guys who had them and they are a much more freestyle oriented mid-fat ski, with some definite Rocker2 influence.

I’m wondering if it will be more in the guise of the Nordic’s Enforcer Free series... if so, I’ll be ordering them to complement my Norse Freerides for sure.

The lupo air is just as stiff as the hawx xtd 130. The problem with the lupo air is that the block in the back that provides the stiffness often doesn’t catch on one or both sides, both of the ones I tried on out of the box only had one side instead of two engaged which made it flex horribly, once both side were connecting if flexed fine, but it also fits kinda like trash, maybe this quantum free is a replacement and the lupo air will have lived a very short life.

Good point on them replacing the Air 130, and interesting regarding your point on the stiffness. I found the Hawx Ultra XTD 130 to be softer than a 130 (which was to be expected) but found the Lupo Air really soft.
 
lightish boot with touring capability, -10 or -20 flex

very light boot like lupo, scarpa rs etc easy -40 vs a proper 130 boot imho

but hey Im not light.

I'm curious about this boot as well. Lots of interesting stuff out there in the 1000g range. I love my Lupos, but they are pretty bulky for longer, higher vertical touring days. This boot seems likely to be positioned flex and performance-wise somewhere between the Lupo Air and the Quantum, which I'd be down for if I was to build a true lightweight setup.

All that said, I used to have a pair of Dalbello Sherpas with a similar cable-style top buckle. It was...not good. Fingers cross it's a little more refined here.
