2022 ARV 96 or Bdog???

I'm looking to get new skis and moving out west next year and will probably be skiing 60% park and 40% all mountain, I want the bdogs but am not sure if they will do the job all-mountain as the arv 96 would. thoughts?

ARV will definitely be the better all-mountain ski for "out west". If you're stoked on the B-Dog though, it might be worth considering a two-ski quiver alongside something fatter like a Whitewalker, ARV116/106, etc. (Just to give some examples from the Armada lineup.)

The BDog is not gonna do so well in your 40% all mountain skiing while the ARV96 is gonna do good in your 60% park skiing.

The arv is much stiffer so it will do better on jumps, plus drastically better on all mountain. The B dogs will be fun for all mountain for buttering around but won't preform very good at all if you want to charge. That being said if you want B dogs rip B dogs!

Oregon you might want something a bit more rockered and wider (ON3P is Oregon). Utah you can get away with a bit less rocker and thinner (unless it’s puking). Oregon snowpack is heavier than Utah snowpack

Yeah they’re prone to sidewall issues from rail abuse what I’ve heard. I guess I’ll plug a few.

Fauna Omni, comes our next year. 100 underfoot. Medium soft flex with some backbone. Poplar/oak core.

Vishnu key. 95 underfoot with bamboo/poplar core and nice profile.

Völkl Revolt 95. 95 underfoot with nice maple/beech core (iirc) profile for all around the mountain.

Armada ARV96, as mentioned.

ON3P Mag 102. Pure bamboo for nice rebound and a uhmw sidewall for dampening. Heavy rocker so you won’t get bogged down.

Deviation ballistic. 99 underfoot with PHD core (Purple Heart sidewall with poplar and ash core). Strong ski for Oregon, along with ON3P.

Just a few off the top of my head. Keep in mind this is from my point of view. Others may different based on their preferences. Most of these can be found for under $600 or so. As for the expensive ones - ON3P you can wait for blems to drop. Deviation just write and ask if they have any blems laying around. I’ve done that before and they even had a comment once on here saying to do that.

Armada stranger. Way sturdier a ski. Rips all mountain and carves insane. So fun.

Deviations look insane, but 750 is a lot, are they worth it?

The build quality and core/sidewall feel is pretty great. I can imagine the ballistics being really fun. I got a stupid deal on my deviations though

I just got my first pair of deviation's and I've demoed them a couple different types and holy shit the construction on them is beautiful. The wooden sidewalls look so quality. Can't speak to the long term durability

Yeah the finish is gorgeous. I agree. Some guy tried to tell me on Reddit that they chip easily but that hasn’t been my experience.

The video is the sidewalls if it’ll ever encode

To be honest you might just want a dedicated park ski, then find a beater all mtn ski to rip on once it snows. If you don't want to go that route you can go Nick Larsen's route and get Magnus 102s and likely ride them in the powder and park. Lots of skis around that waist width will also rip pretty good in the park as long as you don't mount them too far back. (id go dead center tho)

You could be [tag=255318]@CalumSKI[/tag] and rock bdogs and do freeride shit lol.

you’d be fine on bdogs
