its actually a really good setup too, Troll knows how to put on a good event. This was only about half the snow they had saved they said

When I walked around I went over to Valhalla and saw where they had it stored, there was Plenty more snow! Easily a couple more truckloads.

After being able to get back into skiing over the past couple years—I'm suuuper psyched to hit it this winter. Trying to get ahead of it with lift tickets and gear and what not. No more rentals!! Would love to hit some spots out West (TAOS??) considering I've been east my whole life.

fall lift evacs and trainings coming up. Got the dates cannot wait to be coaching again. those kids and family’s made my weeks

trips ive got booked already:

banff for late november

chic chocs for december

switzerland for february

tahoe for april

mammoth for may

probably add a couple of road trips to lake placid and tremblant inbetween all that. really want to do tucks again too, but might not be able to fit it in.

Finally got enough touring/avy/wintercamp stuff to bring all of the homies on a multi day trip.

Still been working on the tramps to be able to put down a dub misty and a cork 10 on the snow.

Will probably start shoveling the hockey rinks to get my rail legs under me throughout the next couple of weeks.

The upcoming winter is gonna pass by in a blink of an eye.

You guys are going to love it, their main park is wonderful. Their tube dfd is my favorite rail in the entire world

I’m so stoked for this season. Yesterday I hiked/skinned up to a benign glacier that’s high enough up to have a few feet of snow and skied a few laps and built a booter. It felt so damn good to ski fresh snow and get upside down again after a long summer. So hyped for the snow to start stacking up down low and ski season to start up for real

Skied another preseason rail jam today, local shop got truckloads of snow from the ice arenas. So ready for the real thing now. Cold front in MN coming tomorrow getting overnight temps below freezing for a few days. Got my money on Wild Mtn to open sometime next week

dropped off my skis to get mounted and detuned today. homie bought his pass and figured out his boot pain he had last year. mountains gonna open next few weeks... pretty hyped

Shoulder season fucking SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS

dude, i don't mind the shoulder in Park City. things are calm, and the weather is incredible. I'm just taking this in.

You're right though dude. The biking has been so good as well as the weather and colors. Probably my favorite Fall thus far living here.

Managed to get a job working in Nozawa Onsen. All my days off I get to ski powder. And I get paid to be there

I can’t wait to ski. It’s like all I think about. There’s so much I want to get this season and the progression needs to start soon. Hopefully another month or so and I’ll be at it.

Those trips sound sick. Have you been to Banff in the early season before and if so, how does the snowpack tend to be on the freeride terrain?

I just started uni so I'm only gonna be hitting up some spots in quebec and vermont this season

early season is always a gamble with ski resorts. sometimes it can be great and lots of stuff is open, other times youll have just groomed runs until january/february.

my trip coming up, we are doing one day at lake louise just to get our ski legs back under us, then (if avy conditions permit) we are heading off into the back country/up the icefields parkway. the avalanche canada trip reports ive seen so far look decent. definitley bringing rock skis so i dont ruin my nice pair on the sharks.

good luck in school. i had a ball skipping class and going to tremblant during big dumps on weekdays when i studied at uottawa.

whiteface in ny is also a really close option with some sick chute/freeride skiing.

damn its looking really nice and decently filled in, hopefully you can get some sick backcountry days in.

I'm at mac which I'm coming to realize was a pretty poor choice for skiing but it is what it is. I was actually considering whiteface but heard it gets super icy and is no good unless you're blessed with the weather, ended up deciding to go to jay with the boys.

def better to go to whiteafce later in the season. its icy december to february for sure. "the slides" are too good to pass up imo. they feel like legit western gullies/chutes with some decent sustain.

there def some treeline "freeride" spots at jay, but they are so short imo.
