Why tf is everyone doing a goddamn cork in big air? No misties, rodeos, flatspins, dspins? Every trick looks the same. Competition skiing needs to change to prioritize creativity and variety as well as technical ability.

rip henrik. His last trick looked so cool, too bad he didn’t go big enough...maybe his clothes were a parachute ?

Im assuming youve never experienced cork, once you do youll never need another flip again

but for real, next year the skiers should just agree to start the finals off with rod 9s and switch bios or whatever to see the judges reactions

Yeah I mean it’s always a cork fest, but this year I don’t think I saw a single non cork .. ?!

Speaking of that and Henrik, he’s popped rodeo 14s in big air before, wish he had tonight

I'm hype to see A Hall with the win because the man slays and threw down an awesome run but the amounts of falls today sucked.
 
AHall and ABM slayed but one of the most disappointing slope contests. Get that the light was flat but that shouldn't matter that much for the rails where everyone was falling. And lame that Evan couldn't compete.
 
I feel like this year was a bit of a mind game. So many people falling on boxes doesn't feel right.
 
Sucks that we didn't get to see everyone's full run. Ahall's run was so clean, especially the rails.
 
Am I the only one who is excited about the fact that Oystein was wearing what appeared to be a newer version of the OG Oakley Puffy 3.5 pants?! PLEASE let it be true...

Agreed. I’m interested to see the numbers that x games does every year..I have a feeling x games peaked 2010-2014 and since then has gone down hill. Idk the whole event just seemed off this year in my opinion. Pipe was pretty disappointing, guys only going 10 feet out of the pipe, big air was just 500 triple cork safety grabs and I have yet to watch slope bc I’m waiting for it to be put on YouTube but from the sounds of this thread it was the worst event of the 3

Yeah I think it might have to do with some athletes dropping off over the years and we need a fresh batch of talent, pipe is just so hard these days with icy walls and stupidly tech runs trying to be done, but last year or whenever miguel porteous got 2nd everyone fell to, he laid down a sick but mellow run after a bunch fell going to hard. They just seem to have less athletes as the good years did and they either dont stream it without making some bullshit account or dont put it on TV, while less intense events get better air time then men's slope, pipe and big air. I like triples and whatever but I love that AHall won just cause he did some crazy grabs in still very tech tricks.
