2019 Hype

Another person here that's been following the Bent Chetler 100 hype with the Blizzard Rustler 9(94 underfoot) looking very interesting as well. Both have been getting rave reviews for playful all mountain skis that can still carve a turn. Looks like a -6 "all mountain" mount point on the 100 that pro riders are using around -3 with great park/all mountain results. Was even compared as "more stable" than the Nordica Enforcer 100 in one review which is high praise for such a playful ski that is more forward mounted. The Chetler 100 should be very light and flex similar to the new Bent Chetler 120 with stiffer tail to help on harder snow. Might be a "quiver killer" ski.

The Line Chronic is also going to 95mm underfoot next year with softer flex which should make it another very good all mountain/park ski.

The Head Kore line is very unimpressive if you've ever skied their older Head Flight Series. Although they are damp and easy to ski, they have no pop or playfulness in comparison and sure don't carve like the old ones did. In a traditionally mounted all mountain ski, The Nordica Enforcer series is more fun, better through crud and more stable so the Kore 99 will be a "not as good Enforcer 100" if I had to guess.

The Armada ARV 96Ti looks interesting too as I found the Armada ARV series fun on softer snow but not very damp on harder snow and the addition of metal should greatly improve that.

Going to be a good year for 90-100mm skis next year!

I actually demoed Head Kore 105 this year. Although I haven't skied the old flight series, I don't think I can agree with you about the playfulness part. They (Kore 105) pop very well and are kind of nimble.

It’s not that the Kore aren’t fun or have no pop at all, it’s just they are a very different

ski compared to the Flight Series. Imagine the Kore mixed with a touch of Slalom ski and large mix of twin tip park ski. The mount is much closer to center, yet can carve a turn like you can’t believe, good in hard snow and float well with their huge tip/tail and make a laps of the park. Hard to find the mix of all mountain freestyle that carves and floats as well.

They do get heavy in the wider models though, so the Kore remains easy to ski where the wider Flight series become high speed crud chargers more suited for open areas. My idea mix would be mix of the Kore and Flight Series in wider models.

120 Chetler's 2019 is not too light as a pow skis for riders +/- 200lbs?

Maybe someone can compare them with JJ 2.0 Zero 2018?

I've been skiing the Faction CT 5.0 and it is a lot of fun. The only downside is that the mounting is further back than I would normally like. I mounted it on the line from the factory and didn't realize how far back it is compared to the CT 3.0.

Wish i had more funds/access to the new skis in ON3Ps april drop soon, The K108s are one of the best ski purchases ive ever had. The wrens sound like a hot nasty badass ski for life-threatening levels of speed.

And i reeeeeally want 4FRNT to make more pairs of inthaynes. They had limited numbers this year cuz they wanted to see the demand for the ski.

The Bentchetler skis are definitely more playful than they are all-mountain slayers.

If people are looking for a real all-mountain freeride ski from Atomic, they should be checking out the Vantage 107. That ski is baller, and the new go-to option for our FWT athletes.

any rocker profile pics? also how much stiffer are they compared to the current backland 109? and flex pattern on the new backland compared to the old backland?

I'll take some rocker pics when I get home later and post them up.

Definitely stiffer than the 109 because the Vantage 107 has 2 sheets of metal (top layer is non-perforated, bottom layer is perforated), and the same wood core from our race skis. Think of the Vantage 107 as a wider, more rockered version of the Vantage 100.

The Backland 107 is the replacement to the Backland 109. The Backland 107 uses the same dimensions/rocker/sizing as the Vantage 107 but a different core construction (lighter wood, no metal) and more "traditional" top mold (it doesn't have the window or thick "Beta" style top).

has the new backland softened up compared to the original? trying to figure out skis for next season, im on the backland 109 as my do everything freeride/short tour ski and really like it, i know the backland 107 will be better for touring but i dont want to compromise stability at high speeds/through crud etc

what would you say about mounting a ski like the vantage 107 forward of rec? im currently +4cm of rec on my backlands because i wanted them to feel a little more balanced in the air and having skied rec for about half a season just didnt feel like they were.

The Backland 107 will deflect a bit more than the 109 in crud/chop/mank. It's about 250g lighter per ski, but it's still surprisingly stable. Lee Lau will have a review of it up soon, I'm genuinely curious to hear what he'll say.

I probably wouldn't go that far forward on the Vantage 107. I have mine at recommended and love them, but I could see going +1cm for my skiing and not hating it. It's such a directional charger that I would think going +4cm would feel like a hella lotta tail on that particular ski.

Has anyone been able to take the new RMU YLE ski out? Thing looks actually pretty fun and a completely different take on what he was riding on in years prior with 4FRNT. Need another deep pow weapon.

prolly copping the bents 100. moving away next year, and the local there has lot's of pow, but also a great park. bents 100 seem perfect

line sakana is a great goddamn ski, surfy af in the pow but rails carves. Also really liked the ARV 116 in the deep.

pretty interested in the on3p magnus 102, wondering how well it strikes a balance between a park ski and a jibby all mountain ski.
