2018 Moment Bibbys

Havnt seen too many reviews yet on the 18' bibbys.. anyone have any insight or opinions? Im sure if the reputation holds, then they are a gnarly pair of sticks. Has anyone had any trouble riding these all mountain? Looking to hit these on occasional groomers/choppy slush when the snow is bad out in Colorado

their exactly the same as previews years just been renamed the 'wildcat' i love mine, dont have a bad word to say about them, the hype is real. the best in-depth reviews are on blister, countless articles explaining everything i cant be ask to type out, well worth a read. theirs also a 2018 moment thread on here where they were talked about briefly.

The 2018 Bibby and the 2019 Wildcat are exactly the same as the past couple of years, and as stated above, Blister has plenty of reviews on the Bibby as well as a very in depth comment section with replies from the reviewers.

It crushes everything, a lot of people in Tahoe ski the Bibby every day of the season, regardless of conditions.

Thanks for the replies homies - exactly what i was looking for.. and hoping to hear. Im looking for a one ski quiver and I think the bibbys might be just that. Ive almost only ski'd midwest with shit conditions. Ive been out west once and it was too early in the season.. finally making the move out there and hoping to find a ski that can take on groomers/crud yet still crush pow and are useable for day trekkin

Had Bibbys as a 1 ski quiver in Colorado last season and I love them. This season I have pb&js as my everyday ski and only bring the Bibbys out when there's fresh snow or heavy slush.

Had them out today at breck and I was blasting through chopped up hot pow like it was blower. I absolutely love these skis and they kill it everywhere.

Not to jack the thread, but should I get Bibbys or K2 Marksmans? I'm a Midwest skier who normally laps the park at local mountains, but I have Line Blends for that. I'm probably gonna be spending a lot of time up at Mount Bohemia which has a lot of glades/moguls and backcountry-esque runs. I prefer to spend time off-piste, but I normally head to mountains blind to condition, and could show up to anything from ice to a foot or so of fresh. Kinda unsure. Also fyi, the Marksmans are available on sale now in my size but the Bibbys are sold out and I'll have to pay for them next season at full price. Which one should I opt for?

I can't think of any reason why you would need Bibbys or even marksmans in the Midwest. Just use your blends lol

I do for most midwest mountains cuz I just lap the park, but I’m planning on going to mount bohemia in MI soon, which is basically 100% gnarly glades and backcountry so I’d need a diff ski for that. Plus my Blends are 5 years old rn and I want a ski with pop that isn’t a floppy noodle. I also go out west once or so every year and normally we get some fresh snow wherever we go so I’d really like to move up from the Blends.

Im not any expert by any means but i've done my fair share of research. Im from southwest MI and I have homies in the UP that ride bohemia every winter and a lot of them just use all mountain skis that have a regular width of like 100mm. If youre looking something that can absolutely shred through crud and pow, I would definitely lean towards the bibby pro. Everyone ive talked to has recommended it as one of the best all mountain skis for pow/crud, but sometimes lacks a bit on quick turns if youre on groomers/moguls

You can make quick turns on the Bibby you just have to drive the ski which can tire you out on long mogul lines

As a note, we are producing a short run of 184 and 190 Bibby remakes for this season, which are available at the current sales price. If they're not already available for pre order on the website, they will be someone this week.

Believe the hype on the Bibbys. I've never skied this mountain you're talking about and only just now googled - based on pictures the Bibbys seem like too much ski and will charge harder than necessary for that, but if you go out west enough then it makes sense.

Also, why just Bibby and Marksman? Those are two pretty different skis. Maybe check into the PB&J (skinny Bibby)

I need a ski that is mid-fat or fat and can do everything outside of park. Afaik both the Bibbys and Marksmans can do that, albeit with different styles. PB&J is too similar to Blends in terms of width and I would rather opt for something floatier.

maybe check out the kartel 108. i haven't skied them but enough people on here will testify on their behalf. they seem to fit what your looking for

Yeah, those are comparable to the Marksmans tho and from what I’ve heard I think I’d personally find the Marksmans more fun.

jump on them then dude, if from what you've read you like the sound of them. just trying to give you some other things to look at.

Take a look into the 19' chetlers coming out for next season. They look sooooo unbelievably sick. And they're some of the most buttery sticks in the game

i own a pair of 184s. not sure why exactly they renamed it to the wildcat, but it supposed to be the same ski. id like to see how they came up with that name, considering its their best selling ski ever. However, as others have stated the hype is real. they can go anywhere. i skied them on everything this last season...trees, powder, slush, bumps, groomers. they do it all. they are so good i am almost considering buying another pair, esp considering this is the last year with the Bibby name. I'd prefer to own the actual 'Bibby" instead of the so called Wildcat.

Do they feel playful or buttery at all? I'm a super playful aggressive skiier and am super attracted to the chetlers because they're made for playful buttering. I've heard the Bibbys are amazing but you really have to force your turns and stay on top of your edges. I've also heard theyre pretty stiff

I think the Moment Wildcat 108 would work for you. Smaller Bibby which seems like it would be what you want. No reviews yet as they are new next year but something to take a look at

i up sized to the 184 given my size for better float, etc. i would suggest you not upsize for more playfulness. However, the BC might be more playful given the weight difference.

I have seen the next moment lineup and didn't see anything resembling a wildcat 108...yet. is this still super new, proof? perhaps you are referring to the Commander 108.

I think he’s referring to the commander 108, which is by no means a smaller Bibby. It’s a directional ski with two layers of titanal and is designed to be a stiff all out charger from what I’ve seen. However pb&j is the smaller Bibby in the lineup that it seems like a lot of people In gear talk have been skipping over. It does come in at 101mm so it might be a bit smaller than what OP is looking for though

The 184 Bibbys definitely have a playful side to them, but they aren't some noodley park ski. They stomp big lines and destroy chop. I have no problem turning them. If you are an aggressive skier you shouldn't either. Never been on the Bentchetlers.

Look at the Deathwish then.

Just time for a change, everything besides the name is the exact same.

The Wildcat 108 Tour is in the works and we will be testing it this spring. Not sure about the possibility of a non-tour version at this time as it would overlap with quite a few other skis in our lineup.

Correct about the Commander 108. As someone who rarely enjoys charging and jumping off big stuff, riding the Commander 108 makes me want to do that. The ski just inspires confidence.

Hype

Good info hot.pocket, thanks for the update and for clearing confusion.

"Just time for a change, everything besides the name is the exact same." - shoulda just called it the Blister or Blister Pro and been done with it :).

We keep the Blister around as a dulled down (for lack of a better word) version of the Bibby / Wildcat for those who aren't into the typically wild graphics.
