I Fuckin love watching NHL, I think the rink dimensions being tighter makes for a way more exciting game than the bigger ice, Olympic hockey....

That being said, I think its BS they wont let NHL players participate in the olympics... I think its one of the most exciting parts behind skiing in the winter olympics, and its definitley way more interesting to see the athletes that you know compete....

Also the "world cup of hockey" they started doing is pretty lame in my opinion.

dude I totally agree, its not like the 2018 Olympic hockey will be a competition of the best players in the world. the 2018 olympic hockey will be like division 3 football players playing each other. what is the exact reasoning behind not allowing NHL players to partake in the Olympics, other than the fact that the NHL shuts down the league for an Olympic break and obviously loses money? Also, why does the NHL even have to shutdown the league as they have previously done during the Olympics, it is not like they are losing all their players. Like how many players from the NHL leave to go play in the Olympics, like 20-25 at most.

Team Canada this year could be a shitty NHL team (at least if some players lost a few years). The semis and finals will be better hockey than the average NHL game.

Also if you can't enjoy watching an OHL/WHL/QJMHL (essentially 3rd tier hockey) game then you're not a hockey fan. It's still fantastic hockey and thoroughly enjoyable. The Olympics will be no different. It will be excellent hockey and fun to watch.

Just got tickets behind away bench at the Pepsi Centre for Sharks game #1 in Denver on thursday..

and then 2 days later lower bowl behind Rangers attacking end x2 with 3 dorks from New Jersey who I love haha.

I feel like I just go to Avs games to watch them play everyone else, and inadvertently get to watch something entertaining.

I’m jealous! I think watching McKinnon play in person would be just awesome. Kid is just so fast with such quick hands. I’m not a huge Sharks fan but watching Jumbo Joe ragdoll Kadri into the ice just made me so happy. I hope they can push another run to the dance, Jumbo deserves a cup.

Can't believe this hasn't been bumped in 3 months. What's everyone's Cup prediction? I would obviously love for Pittsburgh to three peat, but I'm not sure they have enough depth to beat a team like Tampa, Boston or the Preds. If Pittsburgh doesn't win, I'm hoping PK gets a cup or Flower wins it with Las Vegas.
 
Nashville is an obvious choice. They really are just that good. Personally I'd want the Jets to take it (along with everyone else in Canada outside Toronto), and they definitely could. So long as Pittsburgh or Boston or Vegas doesn't take it.
 
Buds all day baby. This year's first round is gonna be fucking awesome. Toronto against Boston bringing the 2013 nightmare (I was in Maple Leaf Square for Game 7), LA and Las Vegas for the battle of the drunkest sports reporter, Pittsburgh and Philly is always a blood bath. You could say I'll be spending an ample amount of time in sports bars coming up here.

(To kick it with me) Anyway we were throwing back some brews, blastin pop punk music, just having a hell of a time...The self named "god gang" basically confirmed that this bracket is 100% accurate...

I'm so glad the Sharks are mutilating the Ducks... The last few minutes of last nights game are exactly why they are my least favourite team, and why they should be everyones least favourite team.

Sharks destroyed them with speed and skill, and so they goon it up with a bunch of stick fouls. No dropping the gloves like men who have had their balls drop between their legs, no... they are too pathetic for actual hockey fighting... just stupid crosschecks and slashes to "try and send a message" or something like prepubescent boys.

Bitch, youre down 3 games and 5 goals. You suck. Just go out with dignity... Instead they gave the Sharks 2 free powerplay goals on some of the more atrocious stick fouls ive seen, and their captain was sent off with a missconduct for cursing out the refs like a little bitch. Leadership in Anaheim starts with a capital L - for losing your mind.

The Ducks are the most pathetic trash on ice... They have thrown in the towel, and are now just playing to injure the opponents like poor losers with no such thing as dignity.

Sharks and Knights are like a mirror image of each other. Lots of forward depth, lots of speed, good goaltending, not a ton of finishing talent. I think Sharks, with special teams making the difference, but it's going to be close.
 
Anyone see the Avs game last night? They choked in the first and second period but almost came back in the third. Game came down to the last shot but the Avs just couldn’t tie it up. They’re screwed now.

Yeah I hope you're right... if SJ can stay disciplined and maintain its very good PK, it will be hard for Vegas to score being that they're pretty lousy in 5v5 scoring.

At the same time, I feel like Preds or Jets are probably too good for either to get by, but it's hockey... we all know once we have the final 8 teams, it's a crapshoot for who gets the silverware..
 
preds/avs game is sorta all over the place.

I will say that the preds had a shot towards the end of the 2nd where Hammond lost his stick, preds player moves stick out of reach, nashville has semi-wounded goalie/almost open net and still cant bury one, then for whatever reason are gifted a PP and yet cant score on that either.

preds/red wings a little bad blood so that was fun to see, i too hope for a game 7. this series got so much better.

Thank god....the leafs fans where so insufferable. I’m a Habs fan, and I know we are some of the worst in the league but at least we don’t expect the like it’s our birthright. Honestly if/when the leafs do make it to the cup finals I want to just burry my head in the sand.

they blew the lead like 2 or 3 times through out the game, and then yeah boston just poured in on. Andersson got shook up big time, and Gardiner is probably going to get ran out of town cuz a few of those give-aways ended up as goals.
 
I always feel like the sharks get their shit kicked in like once per playoffs but still claw back and can make it a series. Jumbo joe might come back in game 3, right?
