2015 Bent Chetler Binding Mount

Hey guys I just got myself a pair of 2015 Atomic Bent Chetler's 185cm, and was looking some advice on mount point. I am 5'10 and 180lbs and like to ski mostly in a forward stance, skiing in powder and dropping off some small features when I get the option. I do the occasional switch skiing but mostly enjoy myself staying forward. I was thinking about a -2 position but was hoping to get a bit of advice?

Measure everything up, mark some lines for centre of effective edge, centre of sidecut, true centre. Compare those lines to the recommended mount, make a judgement call yourself.

Up until now the recommended line has been -2.5cm from true centre and they ride well there; don't stray too far from the it. Mine are -3cm from true and I love them. A friend mounted his at -4 or -4.5cm and regretted it.

I rode my old ones at -1.5cm because I genuinely did ride them switch half the time. As mentioned above, don't go more than a cm from the recommended, since it is actually the best mount. If you want to ski switch in pow a lot, 1cm forward, if you don't at all, maybe 1 back.

Also, make sure you measure yourself, topsheet mounting lines are frequently way off where they are meant to be.

How do they measure? They 185 tip to tail straight measure? Or somewhere around 182?

Not sure about the 2015 chetlers but my 2013 chetlers measure 1cm short. They're 192cm and tip to tail pull is 191cm.

they measured around 183 when I mounted mine. I mounted them ay -2cm from center and loved it. Don't go any further back than that, they're an extremely center-directional behaving ski.

Got my 185's mounted at -2.5 by nyles. They ski so freakin well. And yeah, the measurements on the top sheet are off on these skis.

yeah I think I might've gone at -2.5 myself haha. don't remember exactly (but either way they will feel the same, it's a good spot)

Center mounted pow skis are way fun. I would definitely recommend center if you park skis are center also because its much easier having your whole quiver mounted the same. Tops go like 2.5cm back from true center.

From the man himself in a previous thread

"I would say 2 or 2.5 behind center. We are very similar in size, and I personally ride mine at 1.5 behind center.. I've ridden a pair at center, 2, 2.5, and 1.5, and loved them all, but for all around/ all the time, 2 was the way to go. Hope that helps my friend, and thank you very much for the support. Hope you enjoy them.

Cheers,

CB
