2015 Armada Alpha X

Who has experience with these skis? I am thinking of buying these to replace my 2010 armada ARVs. I am looking for a ski that will be a one ski quiver, something that I can take on a lap from the top of the mountain in a bowl through the trees and rip groomers, then finish the run hitting medium jumps and rails in the park. From what I have seen these would be a good fin, but if anyone has ridden them, please comment on their play.

Any other suggestions?

Those are quite interesting for me as well, I think they would be more than solid in the park at least what I've heard but I'd like to know how they hold up in pow, you know these days when you aren't really sure if you gonna need your fat ones or not.

I have the 2014 version and I fucking love them. been an alpha 1 fan for a while, they were great, but I always wanted them to make them a little wider. I was so happy last year when they did. I absolutely recommend them you will not regret buying them

can attest to them being a great all around ski. If you size up, the stiffness, shape, and width make this ski pretty much unstoppable in most conditions. Super versatile and fun.

Went to my local shop, they suggested looking into the Blends as well.

I'm doing some last research now, but anyone have thoughts on the two/what I should do?

From what i've heard so far i'll probably just go for the alphas unless I hear anything to change that.

Blends are not even close to how the Alpha X's will perfrom. flexy sticks vs stiff. The shop did a poor job recommending you another option. I would look at Volkl skis (Bridge) if you want a versatile ski that is on the stiffer side. THere are tons of 1 ski quivers out there nowadays so it really isnt that hard to find a good secondary option. Just tell us what you want in your ski and choices will be better

Thanks for the input. I supplied what I was looking for in my original post, and no one seemed to think the Alphas would be bad for me. Do you have any other suggestions that I should look at before I commit to the alphas?

If you like the alpha x then go for it. When i said what you want in your ski i meant amount of rocker, flex (maybe you would like medium)park to out kf park ratio, etc. I could go through a long list so if you really want more choices than info on bio is also needed as well as skill level aggressivensess and other things

Thats why I came here, I want something that can handle it all. A medium flex sounds good to me, enough rocker to handle some powder days, but I dont need something that is the perfect powder ski. I ski about 60/40 in and out of park. I am a 3 or a 3+ idk how to differentiate that really. I ski aggressively, trees, big mtn and park. Tell me what you think

where did you get them mounted? I just got a pair of armada halo 2 @176, and i just noticed the 2015 Alpha xs are the exact same measurements: 109 121 94 111 101 @176. the first ski shop i brought them to were like you cant get them center mounted because they are not tru and have a bit of a differnet shape. then i read on ns other people getting them center mounted and them just skiing a bit weird on groomers. so second shop i brought them to didnt even ask and center mounted them. But i am also wondering if they will ski badly switch?
