Thank you! Perfect answer.

Ya and even if he did destroy it, they can get every text and call from the phone company but they didnt even try? Idk maybe were not hearing everything but from what im hearing its a damn joke.

"Brady denies destroying his phone so that he didn't have to hand it over to the NFL. He says that he replaced his broken Samsung phone with an iPhone after his attorneys told him that investigators would not be given the phone itself.

As for what was on the phone, Brady says that they turned over "detailed pages" of phone records and all of the emails requested by the Wells investigators. They also went to the phone company to retrieve the relevant messages from his broken phone. The NFL acknowledged that last part in the 20-page statement explaining Goodell's decision, buried in a footnote on page 12.

The league declined to work with the phone company to retrieve the details of Brady's cell phone records because it was "simply not practical." That line and Goodell's effort to make it sound like Brady's phone was deliberately destroyed prior to meeting with investigators doesn't instill much confidence in the the NFL's ad hoc approach to disciplining players."

Yup. And when they say it was "simply not practical" to work with the phone company they really mean "we know we weren't going to find anything anyways because we know there's nothing to find, so why bother when we can just create a sensationalist headline like 'Brady orders phone to be destroyed' that will get everyone mad at him anyway, without us having to do any of the leg work to prove he actually did anything wrong."

Forget about the fact that they had other people's phones, and so anything Brady sent to anybody they already had access to. Because, ya know, if you text or call someone it also shows up on that person's phone, not just yours. Also forget about the "detailed pages" that Brady had already provided them with. You want to know the real reason Brady didn't hand over his phone? Because his wife is Gisele Bundchen and he didn't want a sicko like Goodell going home and beating off to nudes of his wife. If not wanting other men to masturbate to your wife makes you a liar and a cheat, then yeah, Brady's about the biggest liar and cheat there is.

This is seriously some North Korea shit. I wonder if Goodell has a summer house there where he chills with Kim Jung Un, or whoever the hell is in charge over there these days.

no, no it does not. The NFL is capitalizing on this media circus by drawing it out as long as possible.

Its starting to take away from the actual sport side of things, i get cheating isnt good but with preseason less than a month away, we need to start putting our focuses on whats right. A little over 6-7 weeks till week 1, too. Enough is enough.

Nobody even cheated, is the most ridiculous part. Goodell and the NFL just doesn't want to admit it because they don't want to look bad. Honestly, the longer this goes on, the more I even doubt there was ever anything wrong with the footballs. I wouldn't be at all surprised at this point if it comes out that the balls were never even deflated and were perfectly legal all along.

goodell is just a fucking clown. was neutral on him up until the ray rice ordeal, then i just hated the fucking guy. he has no idea what he is doing, he is just a fucking shmuck lawyer that needs to go back to rocking the courtrooms, not being the commissioner of one of the largest sporting leagues in the world.

i just find it ridiculous brady is getting treated as the worlds worst human, when goodell allows fucking wife/child beaters and thugs into the fucking league. fuck this guy.

According to Jay Mohr from fox sports radio, the NFL doesn't have the authority to get anything from the phone company. I was wondering the same thing.

If that's true, it's not what the NFL told everyone. All they said was, basically, that they couldn't be bothered to do the work to get what they wanted from the phone company. And if this was the case, I can't think of a single reason the NFL wouldn't be trumpeting it as loudly as possible, considering how much of a hissy fit they're throwing about Brady's phone, and the fact that it would help make themselves look at lot more convincing and legitimate.

Brady's side is now coming out saying the Wells report was edited by the NFL before it was released:

https://twitter.com/AlbertBreer/status/626523910184505344

At this point it's impossible to say if there's any truth behind this, but I'm more inclined to believe that than anything the NFL has to say.

But he wouldn't have helped them. I hate Roger just as much as the next guy. But I'm siding with him on this. Tommy boy did something everyone in the league does. But he tried too hard to cover it up. If he would have sat down, explained he did something every kicker and QB does, he would have got a small fine and it would be over with. But he lied. Just like head hunting fines double, the pats have been caught already for cheating. I do think four games is extreme. But Tom got fucked for lying and got fucked by timing. Everyone knows the NFL is getting out of control. Roger is doing the same thing I do as a teacher early in a classroom. I pick out the cool kid when he messes up and I make an example. I show the power I have. Tom should be out but not for four games. The dude is guilty. His crime doesn't matter, his lying does

Ya but you ask him to do it and he says no then tom looks guilty, instead of goodell looking lazy and like he is just trying to save his own ass. He may have done it, he might be lying, but there is not a single shred of even somewhat solid evidence that proves he did. Thats the problem I have with the whole thing. If it went to a court or actually had an rational and and impartial arbitrator there would be zero punishment.

Yikes, talk about making a lot of assumptions with zero evidence to back it up. You have no idea what Brady would have done if they'd asked him the get the records. If they did, and he said no, it's hard to justify that as cooperating with the investigation, and hard to spin that to make himself look innocent, and that's all the NFL really want, anyway. Instead, Goodell and the NFL look like clowns for spreading the "he ordered his phone to be destroyed" bullshit.

Has it crossed your mind that maybe Brady and his team are fighting this so hard because he didn't do it? It seems to me like all those lawyers Tom is paying a lot of money to would have been able to tell him to just fess up if he did do it to lessen the punishment, but none of them did. At every corner the NFL has looked less and less credible, to the point where I'm honestly starting to believe Tom did nothing wrong. Yes, I'm a Pats fan, but when the story did first come out I assume he did do it because everybody does, it's common practice, and nobody thinks it's a big deal. It was alway clear that Goodell decided he just wanted to get Tom and the Pats and so went after him about PSI because he knows Tom and every other QB in the league messes with it and it would be a simple thing to catch him for, but I figured he probably did break the rules. But now, I honestly don't know, to the point where I'm leaning in believing that Brady did literally nothing wrong. I dunno, I look at everything that's happened, and all of it points, logically, at Tom having done nothing wrong, and the NFL grasping at straws, to the point where they're so desperate they're now resorting to coming up with untrue, sensationalist news headlines to try to rile people up and distract from the fact that the NFL still hasn't come up with a shred of evidence that Brady broke any rules. You add to that the fact that Goodell has been known to do questionably ethical things in the past while Tom is, well, Tom, and I feel much more inclined to him than Goodell and the shit-infested pit that the NFL is becoming. Honestly, I feel bad I ever doubted Tom in the first place. He's earned the benefit of the doubt, and I didn't give it to him. My new stance is that If he says he didn't do it, I believe he didn't do it.

Okay this is the steelers year. Big Ben is one of the best qb's in the league, Antonio Brown is the best WR and Leveon Bell is going to be great this year. This team has it all great offense, and good defense.

No, the thing about Deflategate is that Brady is going to run train on everybody who stands in his way when he gets back. As Rodney Harrison said, Brady is going to "make everybody pay." I really doubt that he'll let some dickweed like Leveon Bell get in his way. The entire league is the fly, Tom is the swatter.

Big Ben eats a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts before every game. his fat heart will give out before his team win's a super bowl. not to mention, he's a raper.

I don't doubt the pats. It'll be a huge obstacle and trust me they're on the road to another Super Bowl but the steelers going to the afc championship against the pats.

There was no proof he ever did that, and he's already won 2 superbowls so...

I want to care about Brady's suspension, but I keep having flashbacks... watching Malcolm Butler punk Ricardo Lockette... I just... can't...

Yeah, sure, don't really care who the Pats play. Well, preferably not the Ravens. They're just annoying.

Yeah, that was pretty great, huh? If anything, though, he punk'd Russ Wilson much more than Lockette.

I do completely agree here. All the evidence is based on circumstance. In a real court, they couldn't do anything. But the NFL PA fucked up when they gave Goodell the power to be judge jury and executioner.

The Pats have now revealed that they asked, early on during the Wells investigation, the NFL to stop ESPN and other news sources from reporting false information and to come out and set the record straight in terms of 11 of 12 balls being 2 PSI underinflated, which was blatantly untrue, and the NFL essentially straight up refused. At this point, I don't see how anyone could be on the NFL's side or believe anything they say about anything in regards to Deflategate.

I think so. if anything, im shocked there aren't more fights, to be honest. people wonder why tempers flare so much, some of these dudes are borderline behemoths filled to the rim with testosterone that smash into each other, we should be thankful they settle their scores with punches, and not trying to smash some dudes skull in.

Yeah, he got picked off and was pissed about it.

Then there was the fights at the Redskins/Texans joint camp.

Speaking of the Texans, I wish JJ Watt could get out of there. I usually hate when people switch teams, but fuck. The dude is too good to never get a ring.

same can be said for megatron but he is super involved within the community of Detroit/metro Detroit and enjoys the fanbase and team, I don't see him moving anywhere unless he gets offered something absurd.

Exactly the same with JJ. But they'll both be in the HOF anyways, so oh well.

s/o to ford field trolling the jets last night by playing "I cant feel my face".

Abdullah is looking really damn good, only a few carries but he averaged at least 9 yards a carry if I recall.

right, dude? pretty wild season last year, and anticipating more madness.

do you guys think that pass play haunts carroll and that coaching staff to this day? it would for me easily, literally one play away from a repeat and it vanishes in the blink of an eye.

of course it haunts them, but pete has the additude of a pitbull. he just keeps moving forward, the whole team is like that. im hoping it puts a little salt in their mentality to go back and win it.

It hasn't even been very long. I bet it will haunt them forever.

Time heals all wounds, though...especially if they continue to be successful, as Baker pointed out.

I'm sure it somewhat does but now that the season has started, I'm sure he's got more issues to deal with.

How badly do you guys think this Jordy injury is going to hurt the pack?

I think it will have a very tangible impact on their offensive performance. Hopefully, they can get Eddy Lacy off to a better start than last year. Nelson was a home-run hitter, averaging more than 15yds-per last year, with 13 TDS. Randall Cobb is a more-than-adequate #2, but there is a significant drop-off after that.

Depends how many players there are in your league. If it's 10 or more, definitely Gronk.
