Anyone with 2015 Dakine? Trying to get a better look at the stuff Pollard was rocking in his 4 day edit

when does Armada usually drop their catalog or start preorders?

Brands don't release catalogs to customers they are for shops to decide what to buy. Armada also will not do pre orders. Just go to your local dealer in the fall or check them out on the nz website now.

Is that not this years outerwear?

No, I don't believe it is.

Thanks! But that was just a press release to garner some interest in their products. Not the full line unfortunately :/

I like me the Gamma Bone Jacket and I kinda dig the Aloha Ripton Pullover. Don't dig the bronze camo colourway on the other hand. Also gotta grab me them Aloha Hot Tubber shorts.

man armada's becoming more and more mainstream, their outerwear looks so lame and indifferent... some pieces are nice but it starts looking like burton

]Anyone heard anything about Bloom?

Yes, PM'd them the other day and they said they're going to have olive green and khaki in the line up this season. The material is more of a twill and less techy feeling but still 20k/20k. That's about all they could say but based on the description and the preview from instagram things are looking good.

Sweet thanks dude, is that because they're using chambray?

Haha what the fuck? This is the second time you've whined in this thread about how brands are too mainstream and don't cool enough stuff for you. How about you try not bitching about everything?

Definitely not sure how I feel about them gaining insulation. I'm really wondering how insulated they are.

Insulation is 2 thumbs down in my book. No thanks.

Confirmed but zero info: Salomon is really working on a tech binding (the was pretty much already out there I know) and also Marker is working on a tech binding (Not really surprising).

Exciting times are coming. More and better Dynafit Beast style bindings will come out in the next couple of years.

Was Greg on them for March Madness?

You won't have to wait too long for info but just wanted to say it's a joint venture between salomon and atomic. There are boots to go along with them from both brands too but the boots are following slightly different paths.

And yes marker have something in the works too. Don't expect beast completion just yet. That binding did not really sell too well so expect more radical style bindings until the market develops a little further.

Stoke level = High

It seems to me that the Beast didn't sell well because it costed a freaking grand. The people looking for a 16-DIN tech binding are mostly diehard ski bums who don't have the budget to drop $1000 on bindings alone.

Is it a "touring" or freeride oriented boot?

Both. One brand is taking on the freeride boot with the other taking on the touring. That is all I can really say for now but the touring boot is going to be really nice.

Yeah price for sure was a big factor. The beast 14 an actually I think radical 2 will help this. Another factor was having to adapt the heel of the boot just for the beast. Most people who consider the beast will have multipe skis and chances are they won't all have the beast mounted on them. So having a set of boots just for the beast put quite a few people off. This is an easy fix for dynafit though, so as long as the price can come down, which it will hopefully they should take off. I think its a great binding and really is the next stage in freeride bindings.

Damn. I am really excited to see this. I hope they do proper testing for the bindings so they dont have massive first year failures

Don't worry about that they have been testing for a long time already.

How could you possibly say the Beast didn't sell well? Did you even look around at everyone's rigs this year?

The only people it didn't sell to were the ones who insisted buying a binding in it's first year of a production is asking for trouble. They were spot on too! Half of the pages in the Beast thread on TGR is people trying to troubleshoot one another's problems

The lower din version is going to explode this year. Especially considering how many dentist's justified the grand, people will have no problem with the 700 for nearly the same thing

It actually did not sell anything like as well as expected And it was never expected to sell that well. The companie I worked for took a small order of 5 pairs with the option of more if needed. We only sold 3 pairs all season.

I agree the beast 14 will help but I actually think it will be the radical 2 which breaks the market. I think more people will get on the radical meaning more boot development and in turn less fear of tech bindings. From there I think the stage will be set for the beast and it's competitors to really start making bi sales.

I'll stick to Speed's :D

But I'll take a shot in the dark and say Solly is the touring one and Atomic is the more freeride orientated (;

When they want to keep things quiet they keep it out of view. You will begin seeing them this season once people other then athletes get on them.

I guess, but still, part of me always expects things to leak one way or another in this day and age. Still excited to see what the options are!

You need to remember there are no leaks. Anytime something is "leaked" the brand know that it is going public. When the only people on a product can be traced very easily it's easy to keep things out of view Of the general public. But spend some time in the lift lines of the bigger resorts I'm sure you will spot things, you just need to know what you are looking for.

To bad they dont take the next step and make a beast style binding. We have enough of the rest already. Plus Salomon (and Atomic I guess) are working on that bindings for a couple of years now. I would laugh my ass of if they come with a binding that justh as the same features like the G3 Ion.

Yes its a big step for people to buy a new system where you will need different type of boots. Look at the Skitrab TR2. Has some amazing features but I dont hear anything about them.

But..people will switch if the system is worth it. DIN release, brakes, lightweight yet strong, quick riser and locking system that is easy to use.

Also if Salomon and Atomic dont have anything like that in the works than another company does. I know for a fact someone is working on it, the people who built it just cant tell me who the client is.

We will see..
