2014/2015 gear thread

Couldn't find the underside graphic of the K2 Pettitors but I stumbled upon it today on a Japanese blog. Not as colourful as the last 2 years but I quite like it. 701750.jpeg

So much sicker in person.

It's just this massive elk skull.

Personally out of all of them, it's my favourite graphic.

Thank you! Was sitting here thinking I'd have to wait until 31st of June/July whenever it was! Cheers, I now have every catalog for next years skis at my disposal.

This could just be me but i feel like Armada is making a lot of weird choices for next year's line. They introduce the Kufo, which is pretty much just a TST with a skin clip, and then keep the TST in their line. It seems like a waste to manufacture two almost exactly identical skis. Also they advertise the new JJ "2.0" with a longer turning radius, but they only change it 1m.

Why do all the 2015 skis have illuminati symbolism? The Bent Chetler has the illuminati eye, the Shreditor 112 has the illuminati eye in an illuminati pyramid, the Pettitor has a demon with a third eye, and the Annex (not in all images, but in at least one) has an anunnaki skull.

So dinks like you have something to get riled up about.

Lol anyways, has anyone found the Armada outerwear and other soft goods catalog yet?

Or it could just be they decided to go for a demonic look and add some creepy eyes or some shit. This years alpha x's have eyes on them. Doesn't mean that it's illuminati

Niklas Eriksson stuck some stickers on. looks nice huh?

Love that two of my friends are actually in the catalog.

Next years Trew will be amazing. I've seen it everyday for the past few weeks and it's sick.

so you can already predict Armada's future brand image? please tell me your magician secrets...

They have more choices than other brands but their ski line up isn't exactly confusing... Z0mg the Kuf0 and T$t, wh1ch i$ wh1ch?!?

No, I can tell you how it appears right now though.

Work retail or study marketing, both of which I've done a lot.

Read "22 laws immutable laws of marketing"

Want to know how to make some not buy a product? Give them 3 or 4 different products for the same use.

Look at the Armada line up.

How many threads do you see on NS asking questions like: Alpha X vs Halo 2 or Thall Vs Ar7? Those are just the most basic examples.

It's kinda obvious.

So you would prefer if armada and other ski companies didn't cater to the preferences of it's customers? They provide every different kind of freestyle/park ski you could want, what if armada only made the ar7 and the halo 2 for their park line-up. What happens when you want an all mountain application of the halo 2? or a softer more playful ar7? Or you want a wide buttery platform ski and there is no al dente only a arv-ti. The options exist because we want them to.

I agree with most of what you said but there's more to it than just marketing, its also supply and demand, do you think armada would keep those "redundant" skis if they didn't make money off of them?

I agree with Goku on the fact that it will make it more difficult for customers to make their choice from the Armada lineup due to extended variety. Having worked at a sports shop i can agree that some people get mixed thoughts when they are provided with too many options and might even go home "to think about it", never coming back.

Making various models that only differ in a slight manner has its risks, but it is awesome that companies like Armada make the effort to at least offer people these varieties. I can only hope that it is profitable for them and they can keep on making specific skis for specific purposes.

I hate it when companies have to drop models for not being worthwhile to produce.

Remember though a lot of the buying is done by buyers for shops. Having a greater range can help armada get into shops which maybe would not consider a freestyle brand in te past. The final customer is not armadas main customer. Is shops that buy the product. So armada are making a line of skis to fit with as many differnt skiers a possible. Because of this they can hope to get in as many retailers as possible.

For example the company I work for took the arv ti not the al dente as our customer base is not really young park guys. Fresh in Edinburgh took the al dente though a they tend to have a younger demographic.

Overall armada are doing pretty well I think in trying to become a bigger mainstream brand.

I wanted next years booters but I don't really like the rasta vibe. Those all black drop kicks look sick though.

I literally have the saga catalogue in my backpack right now but I don't know if I'm allowed to post pictures.

Am I the only one around here thinking that saga only makes ugly stuff and that doesn't care about their super expensive shit you could have cheaper & better?

Yes.

I'd say you can get the best bang for your buck.

I mean, I picked up a legit 3L suit for just over $500, and that's a really good deal.

kinda missed the point, money is just the smaller aspect of what I was trying to say

more like:

fuck saga it's too mainstream and I don't like how it looks also I am not hyped about new stuff

anyone out there? feels like these days everyone tries to lick saga's D
