2014/2015 gear thread

that's the beauty of J Skis .. they don't have to show a ski that you wont be able to buy for 6 months! he just makes em, preorder and boom .. ski.

I got a preview of some of that disgusting crap in AC a few weeks ago. Who makes these decisions? lol

Handled the new TC's today for a second.. seemed cool, but the guy riding them told me not to get them because the edges were already starting to delam.. I've had issues with Line's durability in the past, I'll reserve judgement until more info comes out though..

Steeple 112. Directional touring ski no doubt.

I am split between the Steeple 102 and the Raven for my go to touring ski next year. Decisions, decisions

^I'm going for a Steeple 112 next year as a touring ski. It looks lovely.

And I barely even know what it is....

I agree. But it does look very similar to the Hoji. And if there is a Steeple 102 as well, that sounds like the raven...

There is my friend.

It's basically a choice between RES and Reflect Tech? Whatever the fuck that is. I bet the Steeples will have more camber underfoot though/any at all

I got to ride the 2015 al dente, and yes it's still a 4 flex in the tip and 5 flex in the tail, they rode jus the same jus lil stiffer in the tail, still the best that I rode for park, if you like the halo 2 wait till you ride the new bdog skis, bdog and the al dente are the illest skis coming out

Do you know if they added or changed something to the bdogs that make them different to the halo2? Cause dimensions and flex are exactly the same (on paper).

Volkl seems to be incorporating the early taper from the One and Two onto a whole bunch of other skis in their line. The BMT series looks awesome, and I like the addition of the Full Rocker on the Mantras.

The V-Werks skis are important to the future of ski technology, no doubt. While they aren't radically lighter they definitely took a different approach to making a lighter ski, and in doing so it has at the least drastically cut down their swing weight. With a few improvments and changes they could have a super fatty that feels like a park ski in the air. That would be something else.

If Volkl doesnt release a ski with camber/rocker with similar shape to Shiro, One, or Two i will lose it

Nike SB was never a rebrand of nike, just a branch of it, it has been around since 2002-2003, I guess the skiers and snowboarders just liked some of their clothing.

Their insistence on being 5 years behind with their use of full rocker in everything is maddening. Who the fuck comes up with this shit?

It drives me insane. Fucking stubborn Germans. If the shiro had camber it would be the perfect ski
