2014/2015 gear thread

I'm on the Gypsy now, I like them but they're a bit too stiff. And I don't want them skinnier.

Everyone else thanks for the suggestions, but they're all either too stiff or I've ridden them before. Like I said I may just go back to first gen Bents.. How soft were the Ghost Chants?

Anyone who has been to ISPO or SIA - Have you seen the specs on the Candide 1.0 and 2.0? From the pictures on the Faction article on NS, it looks like the 2.0 is around 100 underfoot, and the Candide 1.0 looks wider as well. Anyone know for sure?

Thats interesting. There are symmetrical park skis and symmetrical pow skis, but I guess this will be the first symmetrical all mtn waisted ski. Do you know the specs of the 1.0?

The One Life is not symmetrical (140-112-132), and its really designed to be mostly a pow ski. I mean, with a 112 waist and freaking huge ass rocker, its hard to be really considered a full all mtn ski.

I know it doesn't seem like it would be an all mountain ski but those thing rock it every where. They hold an edge really good on groomers and you can rip shit up in the park. I got them as a pow ski but I haven't skied them in any fresh, I was so desperate to try them out to the full potential I was launching off 20 foot cliffs and stomping them.

I actually meant One Time, oops.

But this guy is spot on about the One Life's, the only thing bad is the slow bases. It is so hard to carry speed on the flats, even after waxing the night before it wears off by midday

Haha i believe you dude, I've heard only the best about the One Life's, but I'm just saying that they were designed to be a pow ski (I'm sure with versatility high in mind). They are just not a symmetrical all mtn focused ski, like the 2.0 looks to be.

Some of the new Saga stuff. I love some of it and am meh on others

Sorry on the long post, and credits to Saga Outerwear and Andy Mallet

Going to be getting a pair of pow oriented skis next year, going to be a super tough choice between the new Bentchetler's and the Caylor replacement. Both are going to be incredible, no doubt about that.

Whatever black steve is wearing here looks so dope. i really like some of the softshells, but the jackets look awful IMO

Couldn't understand how the sickest pattern they have for next year (the Aztecish pattern on the inside of tht vest) is only on the inside of something. Kind of lame!

Seriously have no idea what Orage was trying to do this year but they do not have their game together. My opinions on the lineup is getting worse and worse with the more I see.

The new B-Dog. It's looking more complex than the davinci code, lacks any form of tall fit, probably because they cut all the material off the waist of the jacket and sewed it to the hood, and overall gives me the feeling that it would be awkward to ski in.

From the few peeks I've seen of the women's stuff it looks like it has a taller fit, looks cleaner, and really it just looks functional for skiing. Thank god we haven't seen all of the lineup yet...

^yeah I walked in and out of their booth within a minute, extremely boring and weird cuts this time around.

I can definitely see it but they have it half assed folded around. But it seems like it would position the hat as if it were sitting on your face... Wat.

Why I absolutely love my murder mystery suit and probably wont ever sell it lol. Plus, I'm still a huge fan of the super baggy stuff and always have been. Never been keen on the slims.

Wow, I'm really NOT feeling Sagas Anomie stuff. Not one single good looking jacket there. But the rest of the stuff looks okay, especially the vest which actually is a 10p!

I think he's implying the similarity of colours.

Also, does anyone have any pictures of O'Neill's booth at SIA? They killed it this year and I'd like to see what's down the pipe for next year.

Almost.. But dims are only one aspect in ski design.. I have not seen rocker shots yet and also no info on flex, core materials etc..

Same, I'm not really into this whole "designer" look outerwear is headed towards. Slimmer and slimmer fits never made any sense to me since it just limits mobility compared to baggy.
