2012 Suspect

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts out there on the new salomon suspect ski in terms of durability and what not.

Thanks

Same ski as always as far as I'm aware so durability still isn't the best, I enjoyed mine while they lasted cause they are a good ski but they just get beat so quick

Lots of people will say they'll snap in half, I skied my 08/09's for 2 years with no problems, then sold them to my friend who is still skiing them today. I bought 2011's and skied them all of last season and they're still going strong right now. I guess it just depends.

The first batch of suspects had real durability problems but that's all fixed now. The main way to ensure that your edges wont crack and break off is by detuning them before hitting rails, so that the edge pressure is reduced. But that goes for any skis you intend to hit rails with.

I have had mine mounted up for a week now and I have been trying to break them. I wondered about what the kids who snap them within a week could be doing, so I have been hitting rails hard all week, and as of yet not even an edge crack. There are a few tiny top sheet scuffs, but really for the week I have given them, they still look brand new. Obviously I know its still a new ski but my armadas and other salomon skis I have looked worse then this after the same time.

Performance wise they are good. I mainly skied a pair of Thalls last season, so I was worried that I would find the suspects stiff, but really they just have so much pop, that they are actually still really playfull, I find I can also butter and press better then on teh Thall as they are stiffer. Overall I really liking them and so long as they dont suddenly break which they dont look like they will, Id recomend them highly.
