2012-2013 Saga Thread

if anyone is going to get a saga jacket and doesnt want bright colors go with khaki jaket and black pants it looks ill as fu*k and i love how good of a jacket it is. well done saga.

Where did you buy your jacket from instead to get that insanly high price? Cause there is no way that VAT and duty costs so much.

Also, you could have bought it from evo since they offer the exact same price.

Lastly, if you were willing to downsize to an XL you could have bought it from the danish retailer which also makes the returnpolicy easier.

When you say that I care too much.. I'll have to care too much compared to something else.

You can't come with such a statement without comparing with a standard. when does one not care too much, or care on a normal level ?

And the standard will always be subjective.. and it was actually just what I want you to remember.

And yes you're right ...

When I see something I want, I find it hard to let it go before I get it.. and I need to work on that, but it is a conscious choice that I wanted to spend so much money on that jacket.

Cheers

Hey Frixxle

I bought it from vpg.no, Saga's customer service suggestions... they said it was the only place they had them in stock.. and I couldn't find The Open Season XXL at Evo when I googled, even though I thought I used a lot of time on my search.

At vpg.no costs jacket $380 and then it costed my cousin crazy $53 to ship it to me in Denmark.

And yes, almost..

A jacket for $220 get a customs charge of $145 (I know this because I earlier this year received a package from Saga of the same amount).

Will give a price of $365 if I get it imported from the U.S.

I met with Nicklas from Jiblab.dk and tried a size XL (which costs $372 as standard) .. but I think it was too small for what I wanted.

......

The development is now that the jacket came to Denmark.. but because the trade policy of the Nordic countries is apparently not as I thought, I get to pay duty on the jacket (so the jacket has become subjected to customs both from the U.S. to Norway, and now from Norway to Denmark).

So I decided to buy one from Saga (who suddenly had one in their shop - now sold out again) and I will send the other I have lying at the post office back to Norway without paying customs of course.

However the jacket imported from Saga will still be costing me $365 but I'm quite fine with it.

Well, if the jacket is $219 and there is $46 shipping (free now though..)

Then on top of the $265 there is a 25% VAT and other fees which amount to ~$105 and then the Danish post service throws a $25 fee on top of that. So about $395, not sure what the last $25 is from.

However there is a Danish shop which has it in XL for $400 with -20% off, but I guess it's too late now.

Also, I just realized I'll have to pay $40 fees on a $60 (with shipping) shirt I ordered, fuck..

thats the fucking dumbest thing ive ever heard..

so when someone comes up to you and says "hey ur jacket looks really cool".. u turn to them and say "looks cool compared to what?" its just a general statement not a comparison.

Just forget it ..

Your statement is that I care too much about my clothes.

Mine is that I don't.

I don't want to smash the Saga thread with an discussion because we disagree on something so unimportant.

Outerwear is great as always, but very disappointed with the suspenders. I thought they would be huge, but I have them maxed and they barely reach my waist and are not nearly long enough to sag (I'm 6'3)

The same experience as I had, I'm the same height ..

But you can tie a shoelace or something else to it and have them extended to the length you want.

Wanna give Saga customer service a shoutout. My mom ordered something that ended up being sold out, they're hooking me up with a single-logo printed version of a pullover and another pullover or possibly a flannel, all for the price of a normal pullover.

sorta annoyed my xl anomie is a lot wider than i expected..

length is great but around the red line

anomie-lancelot.jpg

it gets heaps wide. put a couple of jumpers on underneath and didnt make much of a difference. usually i wouldnt care but this is bugging me for some reason

seriously considering exchanging it for a large.

Anyone know how an xl fatigue jacket would compare in fit to an xl scuba too anomie jacket from the '08 season? I'd imagine it's slimmed down and a tad shorter, but if anyone has worn both it'd be nice to know.

And since the khaki fatigues are sold out, anyone know a pant that would look/fit similar? I'm thinking holden maybe?

I am just coming in here to reiterate to all of you how great of a company Saga is, now I am sure you all already know this, but I would just like to share my story with you guys because I feel that it is needed to be told.

So, I did the Pre-Order and got the free Pre-Order hoodie and after wearing it one time, the right arm ribbing around the cuff of the sleeve ripped off due to faulty stitching, I pretty bummed, but didn't think too much of it because I did get the hoodie for free but I decided to fill out a Warranty Request form and within a day they responded to my problem and were more then professional in handling the problem. They responded by saying they were super sorry to hear that and to send them my address and that they would get me another one shipped out ASAP! That same day I had a UPS Tracker email saying that the new hoodie had already been shipped! I was super stoked that they could actually stand behind their product and offer me a replacement!

So, then a day after this happened I got done from riding and went to hang my jacket up and there was a rip in the seam of the left arm pit again due to faulty stitching I believe because it looked like the seam had just pulled apart! Again I was super bummed but was like I could totally stitch that but after having such good luck with them on the hoodie I thought I would try again! So, I sent them a picture of the jacket and explained to them that I don't know why this happened and that I had never had any problems with any of my gear before and I have purchased many times from them in the past. Again, they responded within a day and a half with the same response that they were sorry and just to send them my address, size preference and color and that they would get a new one sent out to me!

I am here to just say that Saga Outerwear has made me a customer for life. In a industry like this where new outerwear companies are popping up every day, you need something to set yourself apart from other companies and Saga standing so firm behind their product has definitely earned me as a customer for the rest of my skiing life. They have shown me that there are still good companies out there and I am stoked and proud to wear their clothes on the mountain and I will definitely be telling people of my experience with them.

Thanks again Saga!

Lifelong Customer,

Wondering how quickly they react to the warranty type deals..after skiing in my new saga black jacket 1 day out of the season, one of the front pouches had ripped off when i was putting it down stairs to dry. I didnt fall on anything during the day for it to get caught on it just ripped out.

If there are some who still worry about sizes hare are the Saga stuff I got from this season.

I'm 6'2 and 163 lbs (189cm, 74kg).

Saga - Varsity Crew - 3XL

Saga - Fatigue Jacket - 2XL

Saga - The enlisted Vest - XL (from last season)

Super stoked with both the crewneck and the jacket. The fit is awesome, so sweet that the Fatigue isn't that wide.

Saga - Riding Flannel - 2XL

Saga - First Class Zip Up - 2XL

Saga - Suspenders + Facetube

Ordered the flannel for skiing, but it is too small in my opinion (should have ordered 3XL), so I use it as everyday clothes instead. And it's super cool as that. I've also cut the cord out.

The zip up jacket did I buy for everydaylife and it is super sweet, and have been lucky with the right size. I wonder, however, that there is no strap to hang it up in. And then the buttons on the shoulder straps are so weak so that they jump up every time I go with a backpack (I will sew them in place).

The suspenders are super cool and wide, but they are way too short for my height, so I extended them on the back with the cord from the flannel.

Saaaaggaaaaa.

Where can I find Territory Jacket sizing?

Also if anyone has one they are looking to get rid of let me know :D

Same experience with their customer service. They to me they are right on par with Patagonia. They put out a great product and if an issue arrises they will go well out of the way to handle it and make it right with the consumer.

I'm on it for life. You will see me old as shit still rock a saga suit one of these days.

Wondering if you guys could help me out?? Do you think 200$ shipped is tooo much for a never used once 2011/12 Anomie jacket XL Vivid blue ?? I got the jacket and hung it up in a dry cleaners jacket bag, Iv never used it because I have a 2010 vivid blue that's still in great condition. I would like to sell it and get the same jacket it in XXL (and yes Saga dose make Anomie in XXL this year). Plus K for any help and it will be much appreciated.

Hey Saga or anyone actually I was wondering what size I should get in the Classic Vest. I'm thinking about Large but I want it to fit next year too. I would like it to be baggy but not super baggy. I'm about 5'6" and 120lbs. I'm 15 so I'll be taller next year. Thanks for your time!

How much more do you think you will grow? I'm 5'9" and the large fits fine. If you don't expect to exceed 5'10"/11" a large will be fine.

Has anyone else had trouble with the shipping. I received the first email saying that my order was prepared and that i would get another in 24-48, but a bit over 3 days and I havent gotten anything else...

I have large fatigue pants right now in large and they arent baggy at all. Do you know if the slims are a little more loose fitting than the fatigue pants?
