to be honest pal i find the new searchbar fucking difficult to use. you type something in and something ridiculous come up which has no relevance. plus its nice to actually hear it from someone else answering you. so chill the fuck out and maybe get off your computer and see some friends occasionally.

well its not that difficult to put in a few words into the bar and press search and look for what comes up, and i do chill with friends a lot.

the whole idea behind this site is to bring together a group of guys and girls who love doing one thing in particular, skiing. so tell me whats the point in putting down someone who just wanted a bit of help finding out when the new jiberish line comes out.

gear talk has gone to complete shit because everyone acts the way you do. there needs to be some form of moderation in gear talk and if the mods won't delete every useless thread instantly then people should nicely tell the person to think and searchbar before posting a new thread

i get carried away most of the time and yell at people, and i'm not saying it's the right approach, but sitting with your thumb in your ass and watching the site go to absolute hell does not help. i've watched the absolute tyranny approach work over and over on TGR. tech talk there is not a complete shitshow because the morons are weeded out and silenced instantly by a community of people who don't want their site to turn into NS

and please stop with the "you spend too much time on ns" thing, it just gets old. people live however the fuck they want. if you think it's wrong, just do your own thing quietly in the corner
 
bullshit how does it make the forums shit it just means there are more topics. i dont know why people even say use the searchbar because everybody knows that the new searchbar cant be used to find anything at all. everyone knows it so dont make excuses and contradict me cos u know its true. i just think its pretty lame that people care soooo much about it that they have to get all their friends to defend them in accusing some kid who just wanted to know when the new jiberish line was out. if you already know that there is a previous thread then you'll know when the new line comes out. just as easy to say when its out. grow up
 
while i agree that it's probably best to just kindly answer the person and let them know that the topic has previously been covered, it doesn't really end up working. it's like a gentle form of government with no consequences. if we end up with 20 jiberish threads all asking the same thing then it's just a waste of forum space. i completely agree that the new searchbar is absolutely terrible and needs to be killed instantly, but this has been a problem for years before the new searchbar even came out

if consistent threads asking the same thing become accepted and a trend then all of gear talk will become absolute shit, which you clearly don't care about but i've learned a lot from this forum and i've helped a bunch of people out so i'd hate to see the entire first page of threads be about 3-5 topics that have been covered hundreds of times...it's just repetitive and boring and doesn't contribute to this site at all

i'll just keep using the TGR example. you wonder why they're so hard on dumb noobs? because it's worked for them. they have like 3 moderators who never have to do anything, otherwise it's a self-moderated forum pretty much. ns has like 20 mods who have a full time job of deleting bullshit and banning people. i started on TGR by posting a useless thread in the wrong forum. i got torn apart and instantly learned not to do that, thus contributing to the forum as a whole and sparing the ridiculous amount of dumb noobery

1. I've never met Kangbang before in my life, and I have no idea who he is... So no I'm not defending my "friend". I'm just agreeing with someone with common sense.

2. Grow up? You sound like you're 12.

3. If everyone asked stupid questions repetitively, good gear talk threads would always be bumped down to the 2nd page and they'd never get answered, and it would defeat the purpose of gear talk.

Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through comments, writing the comment your comment could look like. What did you post? well theres no solution is there cos u cant use the searchbar to find a thread and scrolling through the last 10 pages of a forum is going to take time just to make a post. if people had to do that before they make a thread then theyre not going to want to bother.
the only way to resolve this problem is not to start a thread based on an overly generalised question. i agree the op could have looked outside ns to find out when the new line comes out so maybe thats the best way to do it. only start a thread based on personal needs or specific questions.
not gonna happen though
