2011 a bangs vs. 2011 punx vs revivals

Alright, so if you saw my other thread, then you would know that I'm in a situation where I can get any of these skis for free, because my shop screwed up mounting. So I'm 5' 11' and weigh 165 and ski pretty much all rails and small jumps (east coast) and need a very durable ski. In the past Ive had disorderlys and salomon skis and they both only lasted one season. I would like a ski that's close to the disorderly and like I said mostly for rails. I need to know by 2 today. Thanks guys

Hmm, they're all fairly different...

abangs: Not light, slow base, all camber, butterzones, really poppy, symmetrical.

punx: light, poppy, fast base, medium flex thats great for everything at your weight,

revivals: not too sure on, just know that they got early rise and flat underfoot. Flat underfoot with early rise would definitely be amazing for rails. you would catch at all. Not so sure how well flat underfoot with early rise holds and edge, so im not sure about jumps. Also, im not sure on their weight/ flex. My guess would be on the heavier side and a medium flex?

Personally, i would throw the abangs out of the compilation. Punx are just a better version of them. So it would be revivals vs. the punx. also, just throwing this out there..if your store carries the thalls, definitely look at those too!

^no, because a bangs are a lot heavier than punx. And their dursbility is hit or miss. Get punx for sure!

bump, now leaning toward afterbangs, If all I do is rails and I need a durable ski that will last, I mean unless the weight is really noticeably different then I think a bangs are a better choice then both

i bought afterbangs at the beginning of last season. skied a ton of days on them, tons of rails and jumps and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. some chipping which is expected. bases are fine. edges are nicely rounded off. and i love them! maybe i got a good pair. but i would say they are damn durable. could be heavy. but i have not noticed it. hope that helped

I haven't decided, its been back and forth between bangs and punx. But what I want to know is how is the durability on punx? Ive had too many shitty skis, I have to make the right choice on these

Alright thanks everyone, but I decided to get the punx. They seem much more durable and lighter and just seem like a sick rail ski too. And heck, why not go with the 500$ ski, its free!

i dunno man. the guy at my local shop said he bought his a bangs cause theyre built to beat the crap out of. i think you should go with them

def go with the punx

my afterbangs have insane durability(minus a sidewall(does it even have sidewalls?) chip), but apart from that, they feel dead. they are heavy and feel like a couple of planks on your feet.

hahaha well I had the px 12 bindings with the lifter pad in them (the so called shock absorber) that is just a piece of plastic. So the season before this I skied with the absorber and didn't feel a difference, so I just didn't take the absorbers this time, and the screws shouldve been sanded down because they were longer to accompany the absorber. But they didn't sand them down and that's what happened. I guess I was just lucky haha

not true punx can do anything. ive had line park skis the bases are terrible. im impressed with durability but id rather have a better ski than a heavy piece of shit that doesn't do much.
