So there might already be a thread for this, but I haven't found one.
2 years ago we had an El Nino and this year we had a La Nina. Whats your guys predictions for what the snow's gonna be like next season? Any official rulings or is it too early to tell?

The English season has been total horseshit. We did have a bit of a dump in November but throught December and the start of January we only had showers. Pretty much the end of the season was Jan 9th.

this season's gonna be epic :)

sucks tough that last season i probably got the most days on snow of any season and the next season coming is gonna be a lot worst for me :(

East coast rain, Tahoe will get shit on hard, epic season for Montana Idaho and Wyoming, above average for co and pnw, below average for so. Co and nm.

I be living in wisconsin, near the Twin Cities, MN. last night it got down to almost 50 degrees. my spidey senses are tingling saying that snow will be dumping!

Farmer's Almanac says La Nina is peacing this season. If not, it's influence will be significantly less.http://www.farmersalmanac.com/weather/2010/08/29/2011-winter-outlook-the-wait-is-over/

The majority of the western united states will experience average snowfall. The east coast is predicted to have a VERY wet winter whilst central northern US is expected to get shat on by the snow gods.

This is only the prediction of the Farmers Almanac which, by no means, is 100% accurate. Simply predictions, but it's a good place to start to give you a decent understanding and outlook of how the season will be.

Also notice the print date of the article is August 2010...

east coast will have a better early season it started on thanksgiving and didnt snow in mass till the 15 of december. later we got shitted on with nearly 4 feet of snow in one storm.

I remember viewing a CNN report and reading a few articles (back in nov. 2010) stating that the La Nina is probable to turn into some super strong ultra La Nina for the winter of 11/12. let's hope they were right...

Joel from CPF posted something about this near the end of last season and he did pretty damn well with predictions this season so i trust him...couldnt find the post though, i think i remember it saying something about la nina like weather patterns returning after a strong la nina, like last season, about 50% of the time, for colorado at least

these weather nerds seem like they are herding cats- their predictions are unsure, varied and all over the map.

time will tell.

well last year up at crystal mountain/snoqualmie we had a period of a couple weeks were it rained nonstop and pretty much recked the season for a couple of weeks. then of course after that like in march/april we got shitted on

hopefully the monashees get 500cm between jan 19/20 then perfectly clear with no avalanche danger what so ever cause my dad(yes my dad im 16 and dont have 4000 lying around like most people on this site)just booked a trip for us to cat skiing in the monashees on 20-22 and i believe if it has good snow he will book another one next year(sry had to tell someone so excited)

I do now ha!All I saw was "Winter 2011 Outlook." Wondered why the print date was August 2010.

Meh either way, in my other "research," people were saying that La Nina won't be around another year.

So fingers crossed, hope for the best. The only way to know for sure is to wait.

whistler my home mountain never really lets me down this season being probably the best ever hopefully next season can be almost as good
