Post up the comps you know about.
Boyne Country sports rail Jam, in Novi? (Happened last year)
Alpine valley will probably have a snowboard only rail jam (get skiiers in?) and a skiing and snowboarding big air comp sometime in January.

Don thomas sporthaus fall rail jam, september 25th i think. ian compton was there last year. pretty legit setup

mt holly had 2 last year that i attended:
redbull buttercup(snowboarders only) it was soo dope and fun best comp ive been in yet (january) and they had a railjam, slopestlye, and big air comp in late feb i think, it was fun too.
and they usually have the BOB railljam, but not this year because of low funds

Yes We will be having it again. We are working on the details. expect more than just a railjam this year ;)

We also have a railjam in the fall up at Boyne Mountain. Simon Dumont was there 2 falls ago

Sounds awesome, what is the level of riding at this jam?I dont want to look like the kid who sucks but i would like to compete in it, and should be sick, whatever you do extra im sure it will be super legit.

everyone and anyone is welcome, last year it was judged by 3 of us in the store but we're working on something better for this year. also it feels the most like real skiing out of all the jams, we had a barrel jib last year that was awesome

some insane tricks were thrown on that barrel jib... But this year do you think you could possibly bring a rail down instead of all boxes?? And im down to help you guys set it up if i have the time because i know it is a lot of work.

we had a rail but we weren't allowed to set it up. Thanks for the props on the barrel jib. that one was all my idea and I was stoked to see how much everyone loved it. I've got a bunch of ideas for this year already. We were going to make a kicker last year but we just couldn't do it with only 4 of us building. Get ready for this year to be 1000x as epic

word!! thanks!

Also keep the suggestions coming because thats the best way to make things happen!!

I have one more idea, but it is kind of far fetched. It is to have a drop in above the hill to a set of boxes at the top. Then you are fed into the hill to hit another set of boxes at the bottom of the hill.

Like i said it would me very hard to do, but it would be so sick if you could pull it off.

Don Thomas is September 24th

Boyne Country Sports will be sometime late October/early November. Expect maximum epicness

i agree 100% i cant speak for the novi store, other than the fact that they dont carry all the best park skis/boots. But the woodward/bloomfield store is a fucking joke. Not a single person in there knows anything about park. If you looking for a good time, go in there and fuck around with them. They recommend park skis based on the topsheet design. They also carry very few decent park skis/boots. Its a joke of a ski shop. Neither carry full tilts. If you want real service, from a real ski shop, go to Don Thomas in Birmingham. They know their stuff.

i was in there a few weeks ago, i also agree it sucks. everything is way over priced to. doesnt compare to don thomas what so ever.

Never been to don thomas but the BCS store in novi had a few pairs of lines, some k2 park skis, and the ace of spades. Also carried SPK boots and the nordica freestyle boot line.

I overheard one of the employees giving recommendations for a park ski for some dudes son and everything he said was spot on. Also when i was fitted for my Ace's the guy seemed like he knew what he was doing. (although i have never been fitted before)

They also carried some sick orage outwear and alot of sick snowboard gear, overall the store in novi is not such a bad place.

The BCS on Woodward is more of a boutique clothing shop, with a few skis upstairs. Most of the guys who work upstairs seem to snowboard and don't know shit about the skis. The one in Novi seems to carry more skis/boards and less outerwear, and the staff is a lot more knowledgable.

That being said, neither of those stores comes anywhere close to Don Thomas. Best ski shop ever. The employees are all die hard skiers and know their shit like the back of their hand, and most of them are expert boot fitters. Plus, they're really honest, and will tell you to stay away from a product even if they stock it when they think it's bad.

Probably a little late for most people unless you live close, but the Don Thomas rail jam is today. Starts in an hour. Ian Compton and Spencer Millbocker will be there, as well as reps from a bunch of different companies. Ten percent off the entire store, and lots of giveaways if it's anything like last year.

Ian was sick and couldnt make it. 10 people showed up to ski so they only did one practice round then decided to make it snowboard only. I saw a lot of kids walking around wearing Jiberish but only one kid actually there to ski and ironically enough wasn't wearing any.

Hahaha my friend was wearing jiberish but he was actually skiing, and i was skiing to. It was a fun time! Except the format was terrible, you got 3 practice runs then 20 minutes of competing and then you were done. No finals or anything. Still fun though

We have begun planning ours for this year, it should be similar to last years, but a lot better, we're kicking a few new ideas around

how late does the rail jam usually go?? i will try to get a couple of my friends to go?? and how long does it usually take to fill up?

Haha well I'll be riding the night before for final setting. Just got my ace of spades so I'll be able to ski after the comp of you guys will be around after the event
