It is not. I have seen them, I was not impressed. Looking at the binding one gets the impression that they are going after the squire binding (which I love) market with this one. The binding looks to be between the squire and your traditional 12 din PX, Griffon, etc. It is lighter then the later bindings, but a bit 'burlier' then a squire. I would not put someone weighing in at more then 175/180 lb on this new binding. A lower weight and price point will make it attractive to the 140-175 lb recreational skiing crowd that is woried that the Squire might not hold them in.
Those are my semi-professional thoughts on the matter, and reflect how I plan on selling the binding to consumers.
