what model are these? since we've already seen the hot doggers, i thought this might be the booter. but i don't see why they would use the new design for the booters only one year. if not what is this?

haha i definetely didnt. the chronic are the tie die ones and the abang are the green ones. i saw this from someone else but im positive this is labeled right. i messed up on the ep/opus or w.e its called. i believe it is prophet, opus or w.e its called, ep and then blend chronic and abang
 
yeah i was the one who labeled the skis, because the ones with the skulls have a skate construction so step up, and the skis left of the abangs have a wider waist thn the abangs and step ups, but not as wide as the ones left of them which are blends, so blends, chronics, abangs, step up

2012 Line "Mr Pollards Opus" tip/waist/tail: 144-118-141 with 25cm X 15mm tip and tail rocker... and of course early taper... but don't quote me on the rocker specs. Also stiffer than the EP pro.

2012 Line SFB are 108 at the waist, and have more gradual rocker? also a little stiffer than my old 09 model was.
 
Nope. I am told it is because as the drops/jumps get bigger, a fat fat fat ski is a harsher impact in powder, and wash out easier. But I am also told they float just fine.

Oh, also... SFB bases are classic stripes, but in rasta coloring. Pollards Opus are the Rising Sun, but black and white instead of Red and white.
 
realistically, its just another ski that surface makes branded with joystick, so you cant REALLY say "foray into the skiing market".
but it is surfaces/joysticks first softer, symmetrical park ski.
and surface already has a few pretty groundbreaking skis, such as the new lifes/one lifes.

they are the same old S7's, just a new topsheet.
i honestly believe rossi has some work to do on marketing. they make solid skis, boots and bindings, (not something every ski company can claim) but they seem to market it in a way that just does not help them in most of the newschool market.
 
this is true.
im talking more about the S4, S5, S6 range. they are great skis, but you just dont see people riding them. and they completely fucked up the SAS range by basically ending it after 3 years, and adding in a whole bunch of other skis, such as the SC stuff, making it completely whack.
If they had just stuck with the SAS idea, a new graphic by a new artist for each ski out of a line of 7 skis every year, it would have been dope.
 
minus the fact that surface own JS, im sure they had the same facility make it with the same materials also. its a surface ski through and through, I don't care if they say its not

Pretty much the dumbest thing I have ever heard. It's a Surface.
 
P-90 and 100 are remodeled with some minimalist tip rocker, new flatter tails with longer rear running surfaces and a new metal matrix. The former P-100 is now a 98. There is a new 105 and the returning 115 both with similar rise to the current 115.

Salomon did blaze the way with a 2-buckle design but this has a way narrower heel and actually adapts to the width of your foot.
 
May just be the pick, but that does not look very 'upright' to me. Also will the access be a real 130 this year or still be the same flex as a hawx 110?
 
and I'm sure I'd love the atomic boot more, seeing as SPK's were absolutely horrible in my experience..
 
we played around with a bunch of forward lean + ramp angle combinations, and what we think works well is 15 degree forward lean, 4 ramp. I know there are other brands with less forward lean (but also depends on how you measure it, there are ways to claim things, just like forefoot width) and this is what worked for us along with the rest of the specific geometry.

depending on what Tracker you tried on (the SIA boots last year were actually too soft), these are a stiffer durometer and with a cuff insert. Should be a true 130, it tests the same as our CS 130 during the -20 degree freezer flex test.
 
Its made in the surface factory but the design is completely different from any ski from surfaces line. Full wood core, Comes in one size and built for minishred/rails. Basically a jibbing only ski.
