so you can do what tim is doing in this picture, wear your vest over your jacket. and i dont like shoulder zips. its a good place to let water into your jacket, and i think they look awkward.
 
Holy dumb. Vest over jacket? Serves no purpose. Shoulder zips do not let water in. Awkward is wearing a vest over a jacket, not even close to the look of jackets with zip off sleeves.

Some company needs to step up to the plate and make the jacket that we all want. Every jacket should have zip off sleeves, hobo cuffs, a pow skirt (believe it or not there are jackets without them), side vents, hood magnet, good quality, and a taller fit.

second opinion. how is a company supposed to accommodate to both..?
 
that is just like unfeasible production. let's face it, outerwear companies only care enough to give us more than one colourway option that's about it. who knows it could be different for microbrew companies like saga.
 
the zippers will be a week point in waterproofing, you will have at least one spot that does not fully close.

zip off sleeves are gay, the idea of a water resistant vest is stupid. The hood magnet idea is stupid too.
 
Granted there will be a small spot where its not fully closed, but I have never had an issue.

And zip off sleeves are useful, not "gay". For some reason companies got rid of zip off sleeves and now they are making a comeback. If you are going to have a vest, why not make it water resistant? And I guess you like your hood flying over your helmet when you ski switch. Oh wait, you probably ski real snow on real mountains facing the correct direction don't you? Hood magnet idea is a very good idea.
 
Ding ding ding! I was waiting for someone to realize it. I know someone will bitch about First Drop in some sense though. A pass pocket would be nice.
 
the thing thats great about saga though, is that they're shells. which IMO are so much better than jackets. layering is the way to go
 
It's called the Triumph. It's pretty much a GS ski with a twin tip, super stiff & racy - more so than the pipe cleaner.
 
Well it's obvious someone doesn't live on the east coast, where it's 0 in the morning and then 30 degrees by noon. Zip off sleeves are very practical. And it's not like the zippers for the sleeves are out in the open, they are covered. I have never had water leak in on a jacket with zip off sleeves. And idk how you would break zippers....
 
I think more companies should place vents in other place (I know FD does already on the back.) But on my B-Dog jacket, the pit zips are great, but since the jacket is heavily insulated, they do almost nothing especially when you're hiking. I feel like it's really practical to have more vents across the back, and maybe even on the front if there was a way to also make it look okay. I know there's less of a need with shells because they aren't insulated, but with thick jackets 2 little vents don't do a ton.
 
I don't live on the east coast, I live in the PNW, where we actually get weather (most years), including rain. Believe me if your not wearing at least fully seem sealed 20k you will get wet. Even with the best most high tech outerwear you will get wet eventually. Nothing is waterproof, just different levels of water resistance.

Also if you actually really use your gear, you will break almost everything at least once.

What about layering? I have skied in everything from minus 20 to 70 (F). I wear different layers depending on the day. Why not just get a shell, then a fleece with a capaline base layer? I've never had a problem, I just change my fleece depending on the day.

I'm beyond stoked that I have been seeing less and less tall t's hanging out of jackets this season.
 
also this. even tho i wore a tall t every once in a while last year, its ridiculous how many kids wore them last season. the number has definetely decreased.
