2011-2012 English Premier League

Fuck City. Now the real question is do City still need to guy buy 5 new starters even though they won league?

Yeah, they were saying on british TV that they worried that if Bolton were relegated then they wouldn't have the financial backing to go straight back up whereas QPR's owner would just pour money into to the club and make a return next season.

I hope that Bolton go straight back up though! They've had a really shitty season.

I hear the QPR game was good? Not that I'm a fan, but my group iMessage is going crazy with my soccer friends

Man City scored two goals in stoppage time.

Joey Barton freaked out and kicked Nasri I think and got sent off.

I don't fucking believe it! I won't be able to leave the house now.

Joey Barton elbowed Tevez, kicked Aguero in the arse, then tried to headbutt Kompany and fight Balotelli. He was then escorted down the tunnel by police. He is such a moron its unbelievable.

Credit to QPR, they almost did it for us, sad to see Bolton go down though.

FUCK! SHIT! ARGH!

Yeah I hope they get right back up, my family is from there so I know they must be devastated and they are the only team I actually care about

....you're supposedly a "huge man utd fan" and yet are happy for city because they haven't won in 40 years? you sure you're not just a bandwagoner, bro?

and barton's red was a tad harsh, at the very least tevez should have been punished too, he probably punched barton in the head harder than barton elbowed him. and has to be said, barton is great, no harder or crazier man in the epl, dudes a boss.

and to Fun_dip. yes, they will/should buy 5 new starters considering they won on gd against a weak/transitional man utd/arsenal/chelsea. the fact man utd. got as close as they did with the squad they have is embarrassing for city. mancini should be fired.

definitely wouldnt be easy for qpr to go straight back up. they cant afford to pay their players those kinda wages if they are missing out on 60m tv rights.

fuck city

HA fuck that! We didn't deserve to win shit this year, our defense was absolute shite through out the whole year. Vidic is hopefully going to be fit for next season. I hate City. I was born to hate City. But, I do think it is a cool thing for players like Kompany and Dzecko to win something.

I am definitely not a bandwagoner, bro.

i'm not your bro, guy. but fair enough i guess? i'm not much of an epl fan in general and i don't give a shit if dzeko, kompany, and every other player on man city who is only there for the money ever win anything. i woulda thought a man u fan would have felt more strongly about it than i do

stoke didn't finish as well as it felt like they played. only three spots from relegation. crouch was a huge pick up though, and they played well against the big teams

I'm not your guy, friend. I guess you don't see it the way I do. I just hate City as a team, but like a few players on the team. Kompany and Dzecko haven't really seen success in their careers and have worked really hard to get to where they are. I'm just gonna end it at that.

3rd place, eh? Not bad considering how Arsenal started the season. Mind you, there was a lot of foot shooting going on throughout the EPL this season. Gotta catch me some of that QPR vs. Man City game. Fuck United and fuck Nasri.

Looking forward to some Wilshere and Podolski next season.

Love that the last day and the first day have a common trend...us complaining about barton and bandwagons. I'm on mobile but I'll post up some thoughts later

if man utd. buy a quality attacking midfielder over the summer they should be scary next year. plenty of talent on the wings, defense should be fine once vidic gets back in, and rooney scoring goals. all their missing is the center of midfield. its just too bad thats the most important position on the field. look at the difference between the first half of the season w/o scholes and the second half with scholes

that man city game was the craziest game ive seen in a while. thank god tottenham atleast made uefa, they were scaring me there for a while

Way to buy a championship.

While im not a fan of untd myself, that was one hell of a team to get second. Next season is gona be good.

Well, that's the end to one of the best seasons I've ever seen from the Toon. 2 years ago, we were fighting for promotion from the championship. 3 years back we were relegated. Last year we made a half-arsed mid-table run that meant fuck all and this year? Europe. Fucking unbelievable.

as far as close battles go, this was a tremendous season. Absolutely fantastic. Not quite as close as the 1953 title, but i suppose it's good enough.

Good showing by Arsenal...best Arsenal performer was by Fulop by far. 3rd is secure, i can sleep soundly and happily knowing that we will be back in europe, and poldi is coming with us.

Tottenham...eh, shit luck. To be fair, up until not long ago it was theirs to lose...and lose it they did. I feel for the fans, but at the same time, i celebrated like none other at work.

Newcastle...extremely well done. Not quite champions league, but impressive all the same. Welcome back.

Man city...proof that you can make any team title winners provided you have money. I hate it and i think it's ruining the game...but oh well, i feel happy for their long time fans who never thought they'd see them win it again or ever.

man utd...good riddance. They're starting to sound like liverpool in the '90s. "They'll never be as good as us!" Well they're one their way.

chelsea...lose the final. Thats all i want. Not even relevant enough to address otherwise, and it feels fantastic.

Overall it was another season in which everyone knew someone from last season's top 4 would get bumped, and everyone once again wrongly assumed it'd be Arsenal.

Good season, fun thread. Looking forward to the euros. Allez les bleus!

Ah yes... the European Championships are coming. I can't bloody wait! Oranje Boven!

ha ha, an arsenal fan feeling for tottenham???? And as far as man city ruining football by spending money goes I've got to disagree. Yeh, they did buy there way to the top but while they did we got to sit back and watch some pretty amazing football from the best team in the league. Not complaining.

you think? i thought they played shit stuff all year considering the players they have. far too cagey and defensive much of the time. mancini needs to go.

Mancini definitely won't go after winning the premier league. They've got by far the best goal difference in the league and have won by some big scores, not too cagey I'd say.

haha yea it's rare, but come on, those fans have been through a lot, and hopefully will continue to.

The thing about man city was they didn't even play that great quality football. They were efficient in scoring which ended up being decisive, but in terms of being great to watch...not so much.

sounds like it was a crazy last day. Can't help but laugh at City though, a billion $ and many years later they finally have it, barely. every other top team including United was either in transition or completely bottling it. and yeah, the fact that they buy a new starting 11 every year is retarded.

City has offered 25m pounds for RVP and United are willing to match that. Also his wages would be 250,000 pounds a week, where Arsenal is offering him 5m signing bonus and 130,000 a week. I really hope he stays put at Arsenal.

These types of rumor will be thrown around all summer by shit news sites. None of them mean anything. Very unlikely that RVP leaves, and if he does, it will be for 40m+

I wouldn't want to see RVP leave for less than £50m, I mean Torres went for something like that?

Anyway what are people's thoughts on the Champions League final tonight?

I personally want Bayern to win.

I don't know if RVP would quite fetch that much, I mean Torres in good form was still way too expensive and RVP's gonna be almost 30 next season. Abramovic might be willing to drop that kind of cash though haha.

Chealsea!!! come on you blues!!!

Fuck chelsea. so much luck, so much bad football. the whole tournament chelsea has played poor football with sooo much good luck.

bayern deserved to win that, they had their chances, gota put those away.

Bayern was given a penalty chance off a really iffy call on Drogba. They failed horribly. Then, they were well ahead in the final penalty shootout and missed their last 2. They deserved to lose no matter how well they performed otherwise, just for botching those opportunities.

luck? yes, "poor football"? no. there is more to football than attacking the whole game, you need to play smart and defensively. even though chelsea didn't have as many chances their conversion % was miles ahead of bayern. 20 corners vs 1? 26 attempts vs 7? and still 1-1 at the end of 120 minutes. maybe i'm just a chelsea supporter but bayern didn't deserve that from that performance.

congrats to chelsea for the win!

Missed everything due to graduation but I gamecasted it as much as I could. Congrats to chelsea, shibby I'm happy for ya. I'm also thrilled to see tottenham get the bump. Thats just tremendous no matter how you look at it.
