2011-2012 English Premier League

Damn this is the most negative board I've been on tonight, as fans of English football I'd expect you to be cheering us on. Arsenal getting cheated, United getting dicked, all the ridiculous Barca hype, etc...

What Terry did was mentally retarded for anyone never mind the captain of the past decade, plus all the CL history he has. But to me it wasn't a straight red...stupid? Yes. But a dive by Sanchez? Yes. Hell even the penalty was questionable. I can see why some of your are pissed though, I Chelsea win then Newcastle or Spurs are out for next year.

We'll miss RAMIRES and Ivanovic more (both stupid bookings). Barca are for me a team that beat others, Real are are a team that thrash them, I'm almost more scared of them. And then Bayern playing at home, fuck that. But whatever, in a one off game even without our best players, anything can happen. I'm stoked!

There's a better quality vid out there but this is all I could find for now. Gary Neville literally creaming his pants at the Torres goal.

i love how people are shitting their pants over that goal. Yes, it cemented the win and got them through.

It was exciting, but let's be honest...if an established striker like torres had missed that, di matteo probably would have released him from his contract right then and there.

I play as a keeper, I'm not great with the ball at my feet, and i'm slow as hell....but even i could have scored that goal against valdes, one of the most mediocre keepers to ever win everything.

What are you even getting at besides being a downer with that insanely retarded logic? That's like me saying Fabio Grosso's World Cup winning penalty was nothing special because I could have scored it.

"Yes, it cemented the win and got them through. It was exciting" You said it yourself...

And yes I still think Torres is shit and should be gone in the summer.

how is retarded? Because people are shitting themselves over the goal, not the significance of it or the timing, but literally that "fernando torres scored the winner against barcelona, and so he is the best striker ever"

it didn't get them through, they were already winning and moving on. I'd say messi's penalty miss was more important than torres' goal. Terry's red card was a more significant moment in the match too. Torres scored the equivalent of an open net goal in hockey.

Nobody is saying that, nobody is even saying it was a great goal on its own. Everyone is saying how crucial it was...the timing. The tie was technically won before the goal but any fan of any team would take it to kill off a last 5 minute death tango with Barca.

Literally the only reason I posted the video is because of how nans Gary Neville went with his reaction.

i'm just commenting on what i've been reading and hearing elsewhere, not necessarily on here.

i didn't think gary neville could even express that much emotion.

Fair enough.

I never liked him as a player but he's now my favorite pundit. He let out a mini version of that for the Ramires goal too.

I'm enjoying this game. Don't care who wins but I'm hoping for extra time and many red cards for each team.

Ok, i take that back. Thank you for putting that pk in. Made up for you miss.

I want bayern to win this game. So far its lived up to everything i expected.

Going back to the Barca-Chelsea game, Barcelona was the much better side, regardless of the score. Chelsea is nowhere near as good as Barcelona, and playing a man down isn't that big of a deal when you have every man playing defense. In a normal game, man down is important, but considering the way Chelsea played, I don't think it was a very big deal. Chelsea just played defense, and Torres' goal was nothing special. Messi should've scored the penalty, and he almost scored later. Barcelona was the much better team, regardless of the scoreline. And there is no argument against that.

Cool man thanks for the obvious and boringly repetitive insight.

I hope Bayern wins, they've been the better team.

Fair play to Bayern, I missed most of the first leg but they seemed to be the better side over two legs, especially in Madrid. Crazy that 135 million pounds (Kaka and Ronaldo) can't net a penalty.

Just a shame we have to play them in Munich. Also a shame that 7 starters will be missing the final. UEFA really need to change that rule for future tournaments.

Yeah what the fuck kaka and ronaldo. But i was rooting for bayern anyways. Epic game to say the least

Sergios miss was sad...

I agree they need to change the yellow card rule. It gona change the final for the worse.

...I'm actually just glad both of the Spanish clubs are out. Shuts them the fuck up off their hype, finally.

...But in the final, I really want Bayern to win it.

true dat.
Also, Bayern played much better than Real did in BOTH games. How the fuck did Gomez and Robben miss all these chances? Thank God the end was perfect, Neuer is a badass.
They will rule Chelsea. It sucks that so many players will miss the game due to their yellow cards on both sides.

Just been reported that Pep will quit Barca. Wow! Supposed to take a year off, fair enough he looks knackered.

Imagine this: Kenny, Mancini and Di Matteo get another year - Sir Alex and Wenger retire at the end of next season. Guardiola sweepstakes! If Mourinho gets the CL job done next year then Mourinho sweepstakes too!

I don't know what was wrong with Robben and Gomez, but the penalties were pretty exciting. In my opinion, Neuer and Casillas are far and away the best goalies in the world, in my opinion.

I don't like the yellow card rule, but I'm just glad Terry goesn't get to play in the final.

And I think Bayern should handle Chelsea easily unless Chelsea plays the way they did against Barca.

I like how a lot of players are saying they need to change the rules regarding punishments and the final.

I'm ok with changing it....next year.

There's been a bit of moaning coming from chelsea in particular. Sorry, you should have thought about being banned from the final before you played recklessly in the semi.

Granted I'd be just as mad if it was Arsenal, and I've got my own feuds with UEFA refs going back years, but all the same, the rules are the rules and shouldn't be changed after the semis.

I could see him going to Arsenal, and being an Arsenal fan I'd like to see him there when Wenger leaves!

Dafuq? So you've been to German based websites and they're all cool with it?

It's a dumb rule but once the competition has started they can't really do anything about without causing a massive shitstorm. Hopefully something like this will push them to change it for next year, they actually have already done in for the Euros.

I read somewhere that not only are Badstuber and Alaba out but that Van Buyten and their other CB won't be fit! Long way off still but if this happens Bayern won't have a single first team center back.

I'd like to see this as well. Maybe he could teach this Tiki Taka passing to Arsenal, and Arsenal could run riot on the Premier League and become the best team in the world in a few years.

Pretty sure Arsenal are gona stick with Wenger. He did a much better job than was anticipated. It'll definitely be interestin where he goes if the rumors are true. Also Mourinho may be leaving Madrid for tje BPL. If both were to find homes somewhere in England it would be magnificent and surely make tye BPL the top league in the world with absolitely no questions

Bayern's also missing their starting Defensive mid Luis Gustavo. They'll have to play Tymoschuk out of position at centre back. Bayern has a world class starting 11 but they're lacking depthwise. Alaba's backup Rafinha is terrible.

i'll take the point again, begrudgingly.

gotta win the last two to seal it. Thats it and thats all.

and wow, newcastle...what happened?

All three teams still have a chance. No way Newcastle beats City and us.

You should be favorites but Harry, Bale, Modric and the gang will bottle it so they have an excuse to move on at the end of the season.

Yeah I don't get it either... Wigan has been a giant killer as of late

That was my hope for the CL, but oh well. Making it to europe at all is a huge success story that I'm excited about.

looks like scoring against barca might have given him a confidence boost. No surprise, he is a talented striker, he's just inexplicably struggled.

though it must also be said that it is still qpr....they've punched above their weight a bit, but still can be just as bad as anyone.

My thoughts exactly.

True, the real test will be Newcastle on Wednesday. Race for fourth is coming down to the wire here

so stoked for the last day of the season. Apparently Fox is going air almost or all of the final games on their networks.
