2011-2012 English Premier League

chelsea has always been a relatively shit team to watch play. They've scored some tremendous goals and have some good individual talent, but in terms of pure entertaining football it's awful.

not quite to stoke levels, mind you, but still not great.

Thank you Fulham!

Set up perfectly now as we still need to play Chelsea... and spuds can keep dropping points too if they like... going to be a great run in for 3rd/4th/5th....

Just went to my first EPL game saturday, Chelsea vs Wigan, even though Chelsea hasnt been having the best year, it was still really fun and if you ever have the chance to go to a Premier League game, go

Woo! That's what I'm talking about!!

Solidly in 4th, and if either spurs or chelsea muck up a few matches, Newcastle could go champions league!

...probably wont happen, but you can only dream at this stage. I'd be happy as hell for a europa placement.

i would be incredibly happy if your guys managed 4th.

man utd

man city

arsenal

newcastle

would be an absolutely tremendous end to the season.

You're telling me... To crack the top 4 would be unprecedented only 2 years removed from the championship (where we really shouldn't have been to begin with, but I digress...)

i'd like to take a moment to point out if the league started when martin oneill took over at sunderland we'd be 4th by some distance

but alas it didn't, all his transfers paid off no flops, but i reckon sunderland will catch up under oneill, just need to get rid of the dross that steve bruce signed

Care much I do not. Ever since Alan Pardew took over at NUFC, they've been fantastic. And that's someone who thought Newcastle was out of it's mind for sacking Hughton - and who figured this team was going into the trash.

...Upper management has made some really dumb decisions that have absolutely paid off in ways that no conventional thinker would expect. Hell, look at that Carroll deal? For that we landed the likes of Cisse, Ba, Cabaye, and have started to pay back massive debts that the club had accrued.

...paying back debts, being successful, and on a bit of a shoestring budget? I love that kinda shit.

.roockley-I'd just like to point out your shower of shite got pumped 4 nowt by Everton..... Should have stuck with the Geordie.... Silly mackems :-)

pulled a goal back after, would be 3-1 still

terrible call though, if my memory serves right he was the ref with the ballotelli incident recently

do we remember chelsea vs spurs last season?

spurs scored first, then chelsea had a goal given that didnt cross the line and then a goal awarded that was offside.

it does change mentality, but honestly...they let in 4 other goals as well. If 1 bad call demoralizes an entire team to the point that they can't play anymore, you don't deserve to be in the final.

well done to wigan today. Wasn't beautiful or anything, but they did exactly what they set out to do. Arsenal is on a most bizarre run of form at the moment...

No, that was a bad game. Wigan got too stupid goals early, then just camped out in their box the rest of the game. Not fun to watch. They had a back line of like 7 every time Arsenal had the ball in their half.

That game coulda been much more exciting if wigan kept going for more goals. Would have opened up play sooooo much.

Arsenals form lately has been odd to say the least.

This.

And the point of my photo was to show why the ref may have made that call. Yet another incident that proves the need for instant replay.

to be fair, i'm sick of liverpool ramming hillsborough down everyones throats

it was 26 years ago, yes it was a tragic incident but some of the facts they shy away from are awful, fans were forcing their way into the ground without tickets (in 2007 at athens the same thing happened and fans with tickets were turned away) and yet if you bring that up people jump on the bandwagon calling you evil

there are many more reasons why i hate liverpool (suarez, daglish, racism, how they handled the racism) they are fast becoming the most hated team in the leagues

sparknotes: i hate liverpool

They still got 64% of possession and didn't necessarily play badly. I don't know what happened in the 7th and 8th minute, but I don't believe Wigan deserved the win. Wigan played the way the high school teams around me play if they're ever playing the best team in the county, and it's incredibly boring. I am an Arsenal fan, and I'm a bit mad they lost, but I don't believe Wigan is very good. And Mikel Arteta could've made a difference in this game, Aaron Ramsey is just not as good as Arteta, and Walcott played very poorly. Chamberlain started off alright when he came in, but then he just tried to do too much, and he lost the ball like three times in a row.

oh that erm, it doesn't exist right?

i cant believe they refused to play on the day of hillsborough, man u have played on the munich date, rangers play on the anniversary of the ibrox disaster, bradford etc etc

chelsea could have had an extra days rest for their most important game of the season but the PC brigade were out in force so they didn't

DIDIER DROGBA! The man just comes through when we need him, such class. We can do this, come on you Blues!

Technically it does.. but no Juve fan would ever accept it so, and no Liverfool supporter would hold it in as high as the Hillsborough event...

Good finish, well executed play. Barca was dominating that half, so many chances. Coulda easily been 2-1 by now.

Drogba was being a giant pussy, went down 6 times? Looking forward to the second half

In other news... Celtic lost to hearts, setting up and all Edinburgh Scottish Cup Final. Should be super interesting.

..especially with Rangers pretty much sunk for the next who knows how long, it would be interesting to see what side climbs into the #2 position - or at least seriously challenges for it.

You must be a very stubborn Chelsea fan if you truly believe that. I was watching the game with two friends, and we were laughing at him, and also disgusted with him. It wasn't fun to watch.

I am, not gonna lie.. haha. I'll admit it was a bit bad. Fortunately our back 4, namely Cahill, played out of their minds today.

I did like Drogba and Mascherano accusing each other of diving... Pot meet kettle.

Are you fucked in the head? Barcelona is the biggest team of floppers ever and you choose to focus on Drogba who was kicked every time he went down. That comment was spot on, Drogba is class and probably the world's best striker of the past 5+ years.

But whatever man, keep supporting that disgusting, vile team of cheaters and whiners who complete 500+ sideways/backwards passes a game.

Drogba is very good, but there is no way he is the best striker in the past 5 years. Not sure how Barca cheats, but I do hate all the backward passing, but that's why they dominate possession and usually tire out opponents
