2011-2012 English Premier League

I really just want to place 6th this season. That would have exceeded all my expectations - qualifying for Europe.

Could be fantastic to see, after having been relegated only a few years back.

may not do it, if liverpool finish outside the top 5 they will qualify and if sunderland win the fa cup which they will we could finish below you and steal your spot

Oh no he's definitely been awful so far, I was just being a smart ass. He looked excellent yesterday though, two goals and two assists. Hopefully he'll keep that form up today against City.

Sunderland is not going to win the FA cup. Tottenham or Chelsea are probably taking it... Sunderland will probably get smoked by the scouse.

sunderland will beat liverpool, they are no longer the team they were, over paid over hyped

bad result last night, but i think we are focused on the cup now

Massive match tonight for both clubs. For Chelsea every match left is huge if they're serious about getting into the CL next year. For City every match is huge if they're serious about winning the league.

Can't decide who I'd rather win the league, United would be business as usual. And I don't really mind City as a club, it would change things up a bit, but can't stand some of their mercenary players.

I'd prefer united simply because it's what we've all become used to. It's not that uncommon or difficult to say "oh united won the title again...oh well." come may.

Whereas if man city wins it, it will justify their outrageous spending, and make the mercenary transfers worth it. Plus more and more man city fans will start popping up everywhere, and it becomes chelsea all over again. (sorry, had to say it.)

huzzah!

mind the gap tottenham

liverpool just outright are terrible apparently. Come on, blowing 2-0 to lose 3-2 to QPR? Terrible.

Chelsea-man city was a decent game. Not particularly great overall. Nasri scored his most important goal for Arsenal tonight as well

Just been reading...

apparently muamba was technically dead for 78 minutes, and his heart didn't start beating despite 16 defibrillator shocks.

Absolutely insane. Dead for over an hour, now says he feels fine.

Well that was a let down... 1 up to 1 down

Hope we can take care of spurs on the weekend.

Ps I really hoped tevez wouldn't warm up

Muamba incident is terrifying/incredible. On a haapoer not I was glad to see Tevez back, not acity fan, but glad to see the return

so far all the results (in progress except chelsea/tottenham) are quite favorable to myself and Arsenal. I like it.

But damn, liverpool is struggling. It seems the carling cup leads to a slump whether or not you win it or lose it.

such a poor game

on the other hand, sunderland are moving on up the league, will hopefully over take liverpool next week

but i'm off to see them on tuesday against everton, cannot wait to get back to the SoL

anyone see peter crouch's strike tonight? Absolutely ridiculous

reminded me a lot of henry's against man utd back in 2000. Poor old barthez...always loved him as a keeper and somehow henry just kept making a fool of him.

Yea there were some great goals scored this weekend. Overall a very pleasant weekend of football for me. Not too frequently I can sit down and really enjoy a bunch of matches

going to sunderland tomorrow to see them at home for the first time since last year!

ha'way the lads! que sera sera we're going to wembley

gutted we gave 2 goals away in the last 10, just seemed to unsettle the defence losing kilgallon but id have taken a draw if you offered me it before the game, unbeaten against city this season hahaaha

also if city lose the league this year and look back on where they could have picked up points, im glad we could have indirectly won man u the championship

poor refereeing, however sunderland played well enough to deserve a draw

the tackle by gardner at the end was fantastic

Fucking Chelsea... I despise them-along with the mackems and Liverfool. Wigan were robbed today by a shit linesman-both goals offside.

I hope to fuck we finish 5th... Wigan nearly did us a huge favor today-looking forward to Chelsea v Newcastle now.... Bring it on for 5th.... And who knows, Spurs dropping points today as well! C'mon the Toon....

Go Blues!

If Chelsea can pull of wins playing like that, they might not get crushed by barca if they play well.

balotelli probably should have been sent off in the first half, he was being a bit crazy all day.

oh well, great game, deserved result, and i lost my shit while eating lunch with friends/neighbors with the TV on in the background when the goal was scored. Tremendous day of football.

gotta love the ridiculous things about that match too.

First hilarious thing was arsenal fans doing the poznan after scoring just to mock the shit out of city fans.

And second was szczesny taking a sip of a beer thrown at him immediately after the goal, then giving a thumbs up towards the city fans. Reminds me of something mad jens would have done back in the day.

i think the more messed up thing about that statement is actually the fact there are fixtures again tomorrow. strange schedule.

holy shit i forgot about tomorrow

redemption for the FA cup quarter final tomorrow and moving up the league to 7th

I just wanted to quote this for fun.

Battle for 4th is getting really interesting now though. Tottenham, newcastle and chelsea all with a good shout for 4th.

Newcastle however seems to have the most difficult run-in, having to play chelsea away, man city at home, and everton away as their final 3 games.

Chelsea's isn't that much easier though.

Tottenham definitely luck out with their run in though. Easiest of them all.

Can anyone find the ben Arfa goal and put it on here?

It was sensational...

I fancy Newcastle to beat Chelsea at home, draw at worst... they have a helluva run of games between now and then... and Man City will have nothing left to play for when we play them.. Everton is never an easy place to go to - but if we go there knowing we need a result to qualify for champs league, i'm sure the toon will pull out all the stops...

Spurs are playing teams fighting for their lives in the league... it's going to be a brutal time to play those teams, and as they showed today against Norwich... they are just as susceptible to dropping so called "easy points" as anyone else.

We played shite against Bolton today, we were very tired... but we saw it out, two class players made the difference and it's this time of year you need your big players to step forward.

Look at Modric - he hasn't scored or had an assist for 3 months or something ridiculous... yet he is touted as a 40 million quid midfielder?! no chance...

You're only as good as your last game - now come on Fulham tonight and do us a favor...

Oh and the mackems got pumped.... top day.

Possible 3 way split for the 4/5/6 positions. Newcastle gets the shit end of the stick with low GD, but still maintains top 6 with 12 point spread on Everton in 7th. European dreams are far from dead for the Toon!
As much as that would make things interesting...get one in there Fulham.

Glad to see Fulham get a point though it seemed they should have had more. Does anyone else get frustrated watching Chelsea? Fucking sitting Malouda as always and not letting Drogba in until late. Is Malouda hurt or something? Haven't seen him in all season
