2011-2012 English Premier League

Just cause you play football doesn't mean you know about the Premier League, but fair enough I guess were one of the few exceptions to actual fans not bandwagoners.

You're right Gooners... Joey Barton should be purged from the planet earth and should be murdered because hes a rioting fuck who tore up london all on his own just because he posts silly twitter shit and has a bit of a temper.

And Newcastle's such a disrespectful team to everyone they play, and they should be relegated out of the FA... good riddance.

...God you're such crybabies.

CMON THE TOON!

nah arsenal was never gonna win it, but its more the suspensions that bother me.

Gervinho will now be suspended, whereas barton will not, despite the fact that he did start it.

Barton is simply the type of player that everyone will always complain about until he's playing for you. Guarantee that if he left newcastle, and pulled that shit playing against them...they'd be raging 100 times more than we are.

but whatever...more matches to look forward to. It's only week 1.

Impressive collection of chelsea stuff. I'm trying to dig up a photo of my France stuff. Literally have piles of jerseys, jackets and scarves/flags. Unbelievable how fast you can amass a huge collection of football stuff.

I had no issue with Barton when he was being a loudmouth ranter playing for City, and I was excited when he came to Newcastle. My only issues with him were in the year we fell into relegation, where he was really being a bit of a twat to everyone...

Since then, he's been loud and brash, but overall he's played very well for this club and theres a lot of other teams who would love to have him, his dumb hair and pornostache on their own team regardless of the petty troubles.

This is such a silly thing to get all up in arms about... and if Barton would have been suspended I wouldn't have really cared heaps because it was a good result for my club. The end.

bunch of little girls kick a ball around and a bunch of eurofags and muslims jerk off. The rest of the world doesnt give a shit~

Trend? We never have dissapointing starts it's usually mid-season when we fall apart.

Not too worried about the tie since Arsenal and Liverpool have, but Stoke's long throws and Shawcross being himself really got on my nerves today.

I mean the trend for big teams this season. Not just chelsea. I'm not a huge fan of shawcross for obvious reasons as an arsenal fan, but you gotta any those long throws do work

Oh yeah my bad, and the trend seems to be continuing hopefully. De Gea doesn't seem near worth 20mil or whatever they spent on him, but maybe hell prove himself later.

That tackle on Ramsey was brutal I've never liked shawcross. And yeah the throw-ins are useful but it gets to a point where its pathetic how its the only part of their game and it wastes so much time to dry the damn ball and prepare.

the thing is is that shawcross's tackle on ramsey was clean, just happened to break a leg. one of the main reasons why i love stoke is how they play, long throws and overly physical. fun to watch. very happy with a draw today

No offence but I cannot see how you would enjoy that Stoke performance today. 0 chances from anythiing but throws, overly defensive, but yes a physical game. But if I wanted to see 0-0 draws I'd watch Seria A.

The the tackle had no real ill intent and would have been fine, but he didn't seem to realize how r ramsey was coming toward him. Still hate him for it. And I really hope west brom can keep it up

This is why I've been overly more entertained by the SPL most recently... at least there's goals and many of them.. making the game interesting, or at least not a snoozer.

SPL is an entertaining league if you watch on a match by match basis, but on the whole...it really just comes down to ranger and celtic.

Serie A is just awful. Everything about it.

The most entertaining to me, apart from epl, is France's ligue 1. Once lyon was toppled, it's been a different champion every year, a fair number of goals, a lot of great young players. And now thanks to psg, money is becoming bigger in the ligue.

As for epl...well, let's just say i'm not thrilled. A disappointing result, followed by selling our captain. Sucks, but at least we knew it was coming. I'm also excited by the prospect of what direction the team might now take.

Here's my take on the world leagues...

SPL is a 2 horse race. It's only entertaining if you're watching the battle for 3rd.

The EPL is a "who's got the most cash to throw around?" battle, but has the highest quality of players.

The Championship is like the SPL quality but everything changes every year, and most times gets a bit stagnant. (however, it was tons of fun as a Toon supporter seeing your club obliterate everyone)

MLS is where geriatrics meet college students (i'm ultra impressed with the increased interest however)

France is entertaining as shit, and is getting better all the time now with Lyon toppled.

Holland is like France, but Ajax still holds the keys.

the Scandanavian leagues are like MLS without the dumb playoff format (although I only say that because it's non-traditional outside of the USA/Canada)

Serie A is diving + jersey shore drama

La Liga is like the SPL with the competition heightened heavily, but with some of that Serie A bullshit.

Belgium doesn't exist.

Russia, Poland, and most of the Eastern European leagues are interesting only because the fans are setting things on fire and the whole thing is 2 clicks from shit hitting the fan.

the Budesliga is like if the EPL and Ligue 1 had a child and made it speak German.

Mexico is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Argentina is England circa 1974, but with more knives.

Portugal is Brazilians before they move to Spain.

Brazil is those who haven't made the cut yet for Portugal.

haha so true.

my dad had tickets to tottenham versus legia warsaw and the legia fans got so angry and looked asif shit was about to happen in the little away corner of the stadium.

Haha Eastern Europe is so nuts...

Like... Poland, everyone's wearing balaclavas... throwing bombs at each other... (especially in Krakow... Krakovia and Wisla's stadiums are a stonesthrow away.. one of those situations...)

In Russia, the fans are organizing battles that include about 600 people hashing it out in a 'Shirts v. Skins' fashion...

... and in Serbia, hooligans RAPE each other for supremacy...

any one else watching the man city vs. swansea game?! im personally a united fan im rooting for swansea!

I'm rooting for Swansea. Man City have just bought their way to the top of the league. And I can rub it in my Dad's face when City lose :D

I know, I do follow the Prem quite a bit....

From the live feed on the Beeb's sport page: "And there goes the half-time whistle. The Swansea fans celebrate as if they've just gone 4-0 up in an FA Cup final. Says a lot, that."

unfortunate the way it is though....i don't mind the spending, but i wish it would plateau at some level. No more 40mil deals for shit players and such.

Gotta love the beauty of chelsea fans singing about not buying trophies to man city fans. Not saying you were (as your collection also implies that you were around pre-roman) but it seems like a lot of them easily forget how much things changed when roman can knocking.

It bothers me how everyone hates Man City because of this. Man City blew, and had a lot of money, so they bought players to make a better team. How else do you expect them to improve? They have to get better players somehow. As if ManU, Chelsea and the like don't throw around money.

The training ground. Utd haven't really spent a lot of money over a short amount of time, also they bring a lot of their players up from the youth schemes they have running. Don't get me started on Chelsea (buying Torres and he hardly scores).

poor old pompey....i felt terrible for those fans throughout that whole ordeal.

was the work of good old twitchy doing what he does best
