"skinnier and grippier"

Pin - short jib pole, bmx grip wraped with bicycle tape

Dart - all terain free style, mountain bike grip

Lance (sp?) - freeride/backcountry, more traditional profiled grip

so, what does everyone think? i think the price will be the decider

peace

Yeah I agree I think price is going to be the major issue. I saw Armada's and 4FRNT's new poles at SIA and they are pretty inexpensive and sick as well

i like having sick poles but my armada ones got stolen so i dont no if i will buy expensive poles again

thats not that bad of a price point even with a markup that isnt unreal for a quality pole...while like the scratch pole is pushing 100$...
i have the original armada poles(black and white tanners) and i love em, havnt broken them yet surprisingly and grips are still at 100%.

the only poles i will use are scott race poles, great quality, but expensive. if these are good quality and not to high of price i may pick up a pair

I got some old poles for $1, cut and painted them up. I think spending more than $30 on poles is stupid. Poles do not do anything important, apart from making you look "cool".

Yeah, I havnt heard many great things on the 4FRNT poles. I'll get you guys the prices for the Line poles and armada poles for 2010 season later today

Does anyone know how much armadas poles are going to be next year? They cost like $75 this year, which i would never spend on poles.

i stopped buying nice poles when my fav pair got stolen.. so i just started taking rentals or other kid's

yo neon, check the LV SIA videos for the images (can't remember which video). $75 Armadas, wtf? i was considering a new pole since i gimped my thumb on my x-counry length ones i've been using in the park witht the super 'contoured' grip. i'm hoping to get away from the money grip or shortening them knowing i'll need the length outside the park,

peace

meant to say, trying to get away from monkey gripping my poles when doing rails, not money. nor do i want to cut my current long pair for when i need them long, if this makes any sense,

peace

The new Line poles look sick, but I am going to have a hard time justifying shelling out the cash. Like a lot of you guys have said, poles break way too easy.

yeah i don't bother paying a lot for poles, i paid 90 bucks for some black diamond carbon touring poles and they snapped the 5th day i used them so now i just use fat ass leki oneswhen i'm not touring i use scott a.o.s, i just try to find cheap scott series 4 poles

Tell that to a racer and they will flip a shit. Haha. But I think poles definitely affect the way you ride, at least outside the park, where I know I at least spend a lot of time. Whatever.

I'm liking the new line poles. They look pretty sick, so I might get a pair next season for park. Mine right now are just a little bit too long, but I want the length for pow and the rest of the mountain.

with that mindset i really don't want to see you ski outside of the park, i think it would be painful to watch

That hasnt stopped everyone and their distant cousin twice removed from buying the green scott poles with the white strap.

i used the pin for the last month or so of the season. that super skinny road bike grip really works well. you have so much freedom to do whatever you want with your hands. add to this the fact that they come in sizes ranging from like 36 to 42 inches, you won't even have to worry about cutting them down. Line doing the unspeakably sensible once again.

i don't see the point in paying a lot for poles. I always break em.I just use rental shop poles. :p they're super light.

i just go to the thrift store and pick up poles for $5 and then customize them to any color or size i want
