Anybody skied them yet? Can't find any info other than they changed it a lot(121-84-110 this year, sidewalled).
 
get this years if u want girls on the top sheets, cause this is the last year jon is puttin them on.. Next years have kinda a borin topsheet in my opinion
 
yeh man i bought them in Australia for AUD$770 pretty stoked with them, super light, sick graphic although mums give you weird looks. stiff tail but super soft in the nose sick for butters etc but land without fail.
 
i know a guy who skied them, and he said that they are the bes tpark skis he has ever ridden, the previous weird flex the other skis had is now a perfect pop, and thay are still lighter than a helium filled balloon, pretty much he said thay are the best and hes getting some
 
Actually australia gets gear earlier than the northern hemisphere. prob because they use us to work out the kinks.. We will be gettin 2011 gear in over the next few months.. I work at a shop and we have had the 2011 catalogues for a while now
 
My shop doesnt stock armada, we got head, salomon, atomic and rossi and there are a few big surprises comin for next year from all companies, solly and atomic in particular.

I will never give Armada respect if they make a symmetrical ski...They've actually focued on ski performance over sales pitches damnit! Symmetrical skis don't carve like a well made current Armada park ski! FUCK!
 
i really want to know durabilitiy on the new JO pros since they changed to sidewalls?
I ride the old white and blue jo pros (with wood cores) and theyre pretty much bombproof, is that still the case, or have they changed?
 
alright so i've got a pair with me right now, they arrived this afternoon. unfortunately i only picked them up because i got them for super cheap, and i don't plan on skiing them until my walls are shot...which hopefully will be like a year. the walls by the way are excellent, excellent skis, i highly recommend them. so i can just write a first impression of the heads w/o skiing them.
anyways, first off the graphics look awesome in person, everyone is a fan except my mom. the 181s are about the same length as my 185 walls. they have nice and low-profile tips and tails, which i think looks good. the base seems pretty quality, maybe not as much as the race quality volkl bases. however i can't really comment on how fast they are until i ski them. they're not as freakishly light as last years, but not too heavy. probably a little lighter than walls, heavier that scratch FSs.
flex is seems almost on par with my walls, but a little bit softer. definitely softer than scratch FSs. also the flex is super even throughout the ski which i like (unlike how line has "butter zones" or whatever. also i heard last years had a super weird flex).

yeah soo thats about all i can tell haha...now they have to like sit in my garage for like a year until i ski them..
also if anybody has an opinion on mounting please post...im probably gonna do true center.
 
I've been skiing on mine for a season now and have been super happy with them, for the bloke above don't mount them true centre even if your a park rat there edges are super sick and good for a shred, i have mine mounted 1.5 back and that seems to work really well. Probably the best park ski that i have ridden that can be ridden all over, I especially like that they are fatter tip and tail, the Fatter the better i think. But skiing wise they ride especially well on jumps stiffer tail than the nose which allows for some sweet nose butters and still ride sweet on rails even though they are more jump specific. The Graphic kills it and the ski is almost bomb proof no dings at all. One tiny problem is the life of the base it dries out really quick but as long as you have wax handy there is no problem although you really need to wax any ski regularly to keep it's complexity.

Sounds pretty similar to Pipe Cleaners. I hope Head is at the Stevens demo days this year so I can compare them..
 
fail you most certainly do. if you think volkl walls don't carve well i would recommend a frontal lobotomy.
 
I still haven't been on walls yet, but I'm just saying that if Volkl took that design and made it to be mounted a bit back from center and made it non-symmetrical it would be a better ski for skiing forward and switch. Symmetrical is such a sales pitch for people who struggle to ski switch, even if they are pretty good skis.
 
I bet you only ski Invaders, and have nothing else to compare them to, so do not realize that they don't carve compared to a ski that's good at carving, right? And I also bet that you believe that they make switch skiing a million times better.
 
^^aahhhhh damn, checked your profile and it's anthems, I was so close.... Whatever, those(Anthems and Invaders) are truely the two worst skis(of normal sidecut skis, and I honestly find groomers more fun on my 202 Lotus 138s than either of them) at carving I've ever been on.
 
ski on a pair of walls (which have decent edges) and you'll stop saying this. plus carving around is overrated most of the time, especially when your edges are completely rounded from rails and you only ski east coast ice.
 
I like having decent edges when I'm landing after large jumps...And I'll try walls, somebody who also said they hate most symmetrical skis told me walls skied much better than the others.
 
They do. As do Reno Jibs, although the Wall might be better.

The reason Invaders and Anthems suck to carve on is the uneven flex from the butter zones and the overall soft flex not the symmetrical shape. I had more fun carving on EP pros than anthems though.
 
Those aren't the only symmetrical ski I've been on, but I know that destroys them even more. And yeah, I enjoy groomers on my reverse sidecut lotus 138s more than I did on Anthems.
