2010 Icelantic Da' nollie vs. 2010 T-halls

Hey guys, i'm making this thread because I'm debating on what skis to it and these are two of my top options. I am mainly looking for a ski that is capable of all-mountain jibbing, butters, presses, quick little spins, a bunch of rails and boxes, small drop offs, handplants, a bunch of side booters, stalls, little flips off of stuff and at the most, and cruising around the mountain. I'm 5'3", and 110 lbs, and I live on the east coast. I had the Volkl ledges last year, but the tails were to stiff and I would like a softer nose and more of a symmetrical flex. Thanks alot guys, +K for help.

Cant really speak for the T-halls but a 170 Da Nollie would be almost exactly what you are looking for. Light, medium flex that softens up in all the right places, and surprisingly easy to ski everywhere on the mountain.

Im getting the Thalls this winter.

The t halls are quite light weight, have a AR50 side wall which basically means that theres a lower swing weight so better for quickly whipping round spins and such, its made so its stiffer under the boot so u have more control of turns and at decent speeds and then softer on tips and tails ....

for all the info u need heres a link to Armadas page of the Thalls

They are not quite as soft as the 09/10 Fujas. They are still more of a medium flex but there are spots that break in and make them very buttery after a month or two. The tails are somewhat soft. Not to washy on any jumps under 45-50 feet, but you can still butter with the tails. The nose is a little softer.

Alright, cool. Do you guys know of any kind of skis like the ones I'm looking for that are as soft as the fujas besides the Lizzies? (too wide)

i would definately suggest the da'nollie to you. such a fun ski and seems to me exactly what you are looking for.

Alright, thanks alot guys, ++K. How is the flex of the invaders when compared to the da'nollie. And are there any first hand experiences?

I've demoed Da'nollies and they are really light and playful skis. Tails are very soft, tips are not-so-soft, but not stiff by any means. Closest comparison is older Dumonts (blue capped ones), but a bit softer overall. In general, flex is progressively increasing from tails to tips. T-Halls are pretty much the opposite with tails stiffer then tips. Also T-Halls are very stiff in the middle and flex mostly at last 30cm of both tips and tails which suit most people well in the park but questionable for all mtn. As for you, i'd go Da'nollies since you seem to like light flexy skis.

I have invaders and they're mad flexy and really fun on rails, the da'nollies are more of a medium flex so they'll do better on the whole mountain.

I think i've messed it up a bit. Icelantics are symmetrical and they are supposed to flex symmetrically i believe. I think that my impression of stiffer noses/softer tails was due to weird mounting (-couple cms from dead center). Anyway they are still light and flexy overall.

I demoed the new Da Nollies at the end of last year, and I have to say, they were really sick. they weren't the most flexy skis ever, but they were pretty light, and i had no problem moving them around (i tried a 170 and im 5'5"). I don't know a lot on the Thalls, but from what i have heard, i would go with the da nollies. I also heard the Icelantic has an amazing warranty, so that might make getting the Da Nollies even better. Hope that helps

I would say a flexy ski would be like the trouble maker or the el rey. I weigh like 120lbs, and when i touched my tips on flat ground, my heel was probably about 2-3 inches off the ground. The flex on that ski shouldnt affect anything badly... I usually like a stiffer ski anyway, they react faster than noodly ones...

nbsp?

as for flex, I would say, from 1 to 10 (1 being a kid's cap construction ski, and 10 being as stiff as a 2x4) they're probably a 7.

Sorry, haha, I forgot that always showed up at the end of every quote haha. What would you say the flex of the El Rey's and Trouble Makers would be? And would the flex be similar to the Kung Fujas?

I haven't tried the kung fujas, but i hear they are pretty similar to the trouble makers... i would give them a 4.5....the elreys probably a 4.

How can the kung fujas be similar to the trouble makers? They are two completely different skis, one is narrow while the other is wide. The flex patterns are very different too, the troublemakers are relatively stiff while the kung fujas are very soft.

Wow, really? It looks like that's what I should be getting. And they have a symmetrical flex too, right? And that would mean that they are much softer than the volkl ledge?

Alright man, thanks so much. And this is for the 08/09 model, right? If so, I think I've got the ski I want. Thanks again, 10/10
