2010/2011 winter not looking so good...

Weather all over the US looks above normal and dry for the upcoming winter according to most of the long range meteorologists... I am very depressed now

Pfffffffff, whatever. I just spent my last season with a torn ACL so as long as I can ski I can care less. All winters are shitty now, but we still make do.

Today, they said it would rain a lot. Today, I got a sunburn. I don't really believe these things.

Its effin chaos theory you can not tell you what the weather a few months from now will be . They can predict it but, thats off of just old numbers. A few years ago they did a study and they did a huge weather equation to figure out what Chicago weather would be. The typed in the equation once and got a number for a certain day. Then typed in that number again on the same day and the result was different. You can never know. It could snow like crazy this year or just be completely shitty. But, I guarantee you everyone if you ski 30 days a year you will have a powder day.

july 13th... so shut up!

^know how that feels, broken my ankle during the winter two years in a row

and i heard that its gonna be worse then that, its said that there will be snow at all for this year /: ?

and i thought this year was a year thats supposed to get a lot of snow because of the solar system and shit, i dont know what its called and i dont reallly know what im talking about, so correct me if im wrong.

and who will really know til the snow starts to fall, so theres really no point to this thread. east coast conditions suck as it is, but whether or not we get a lot of snow or not...this winter, like every other winter, is gonna be dope as fuck

lol just take it as it comes.

don't check the almanac and get all bent becuz it says that your temps and precipitation are above and below average.

hope for the best and ski as much as you can regardless.

jah bless

No, quite the opposite. The PNW got HAMMERED (amirite?) this past season. Didn't Whistler get a record snowfall? Anyway, La Nina's benefit the East, whine El Nino's benefit the West. See how that works?

this. we can't have two bad seasons in a row.. ullr has moralsalso to the op, shut up!

Don't count your freshies before they fall.

But anyone suggesting that it's going to be a bad winter needs a refresher in optimism and a swirly.

It doesn't get a lot worse than last year on the East close...at least in central Vermont...that was awful.

Guess what?

We don't decide when it snows and how much.

So stop trying to predict shit.

We can't do shit about it.

Just ski in what falls and have fun.

Or if you do it right, 30 pow days.

But really, CO has to get some snow this year to make up for the last 2 shitty years.

Well a la Nina could mean a whole bunch of shit just based on smaller other things tells what's happening on east coast.

no not quite the opposite. and i could be wrong but im pretty sure the second part of what you said is untrue.

Last winter was supposed to be tits in VT, it was absolutely terrible. The only thing I have ever learned from weather forecasts is to keep your eyes open and be ready to catch that storm when it comes.

Indeed it is not looking good, if its any consolation I have just returned from a summer ski in SaasFee with a broken leg ruptured LCL and ACL.
