2010/2011 NBA Playoff Thread

Playoffs are coming up soon. I forsee a Thunder Celtics Finals Im a Knicks fan (no i didnt hop on the melo bandwagon), but i would be surprised if they make it past the first round considering they will probably play the heat or celtics.
What are your picks? stars? chokers?

Very likely possibility of seeign celtics/lakers finals again which the NBA would love but im very afraid of the spurs (if they can stay healthy)

the knicks wont do shit this year, theyve barely over .500 since the anthony trade but look out for htem in the next few years..same with the heat they have barely won against a good team and will be bounced fairly early from the playoffs this year as they have won almost no games against meaningful opponents and absolutey cannot win in the last 5 minutes

chicago makes me nervous because rose is an absolute animal and i have almost no faith in OKC making a deep run - perkins really isnt a good player and they paid sooo much for him and his baggage

i hope to god the spurs stay healthy, the last thing i want is another lakers celtics final. Duncan should be back in the mix this week, hes key to their success

Yeah

id love to see the knicks beat the heat in the first round, i really think that the heat will choke, there is just too much pressure on them. I like the bulls but i dont know if theyre forreal, the lakers always have a great shot because of Kobe and Gasol, the spurs are too old and dont have enough depth, the magic have been playing well of late, but getting howard in foul trouble is too easy, the celtics are old and not very deep, but they do have that winning mentality, all in all my bet is on the lakers, Kobe is still the most clutch player in the league.

wait wait, you think the Heat, who have two of the best players in the world are going to choke in a bo7 series lolwut?

indeed i do, they havent shown any ability to play consistently well against the best teams in the league and to add to it, LeBron is about as clutch as that bitch for Xavier who missed two point blank layups to get her team into the final four.

im so glad you made this thread. i fucking love the NBA, especially the playoffs, and i know there are a ton of NBA haters. Fuck them the NBA is the shit.

Anyways, the bulls are looking so good right now (minus that loss to the sixers, in which they almost came back). And the lakers seem unstoppable. Im thinking these two teams will meet in the finals. The heat seem very inconsistent by i can see them stepping it up in the playoffs and being a serious threat. the thunder are also on fire, but can they keep it up if durant has a bad game?

fuck yeah nba

i totally agree. i actually like the NBA as much if not more than the NFL. i hate how there aren't as many fans, and people think it's acting. also go bulls, as i posted above.

the thunder will not do shit. first round exit calling it right now. chump team with the worst fans ever.
i see my blazers beating the mavs in the first round and losing to the spurs in the second.
but in the east.. the bulls all the way.. they are so sound as a team and are healthy at the right time.

yeah and he's right, theyre something liek 15-20 against teams with a .500 winning percentage or better
games within 3 points the heat are only 2-8 and they are 1-16 on game tying or game winning shots...the exact opposite of clutch..they have the talent on teh squad for sure but they havent figured out how to play like a team - their bench which is arguably the most important part of a long playoff series run is miserable and cant score at all - they also have no plan or execution when it comes to winning big games
if bron and wade can get some help and work together they should be a force the next few years..but no way they are going to make anything happen this year

Love how no one gives the bulls the credit they deserve. They will be in the finals. No question.

In all honesty the only possible Finals match-ups I see happening are either Celtics/Lakers, Bulls/Lakers, Celtics/Spurs,Bulls/Spurs. Those Four teams are dominant in the league. Even though the Heat have plenty of talent and are on a good streak going into the playoffs it is never good to have three high caliber players trying to get the spotlight. The Knicks might nudge their way in there somewhere but doubt it.

We all base our views off of regular season dominance, remember in the beginning of the season when the Cavs were actually doing good. Don't count anyone out of the race to the Finals. Remember the NBA's own saying NBA, Where Anything is Possible".

I don't think lakers are gunna get to the finals, just a feeling. West: OKC.

East is gunna be crazy no matter what, Heat has alot of pressure but isnt the whole reason lebron signed is because he wants a championship? could be wrong but it seems that way so they might pull through just because Wade LeBron and Bosh(?) want a championship so badly.

Celtics might win, but without Perkins they don't have a big defender so I don't think Celtics have the best chance( Celtics are the shit though). Haven't paid attention to Bulls this year but sounds like they could have a good chance. Orlando? New York? nah. I think they'll get kncocked out once they have to play a better team.

soo i guess I'll go with OKC vs Chicago/Boston

I really dont see okc getting past LA or the Spurs, theyre a good squad but definitely not elite like the other two clubs...people got way too excited about the perk trade but the fact of matter is he was only good because he played with 4 all stars and potential hall of famers

Ben. what are you talking about? People have been talking non stop about the bulls and especially MVP of the league rose..they are absolutely a force to be reckoned with and theyre my biggest fear for the celtics coming out of the east

rose gets the talk, as he should. but if you watch espn, the bulls are always the afterthought. i dont care. in fact i like it better, just quietly dominating.

lakers all the way. They'll either play Chicago or Boston in the finals. Kobe is hungry as ever and he will find a way to get it done, he's the best player the game has seen

chicago is looking real hot right now and i have faith they can keep it going in the playoffs

as for the west im really unsure, i feel like there's a big upset brewing and while i doubt it will happen I'd love to see my new-look nuggets go far

melo who?

nobody gives a shit. basketball is a fix and horribly boring to watch. sometimes a dude gets called for putting his hand over the other guys head, something you can body check a mofucka and that shit's legal. no consistency, except for the stars getting the benefit of the doubt. everytime kobe or lebron drive, they get fouled. LoLz

you're a pussy..the guy plays with fire in his heart and an intensity that cant be matched
/static/images/flash_video_placeholder.png"if you can't handle it, get off the court"
btw noah is a fucking pussy, he is the only reason i'll be pissed if the bulls make a deep run

Lakers vs Bulls in the finals. Lakers take it and thats gonna be the end of the Kobe dynasty. Kobe is still the best in the league but with teams like the Bulls and Okl coming up, plus the Heat and hopefully my Knicks its time for some new blood. The Spurs, Mavs and soon teh Celtics are gonna need some young guys.

blazers beat the thunder last night in a epic game. we are back up in the 6th seed and hope to be matched up with the Dallas mavs.. we play Dallas on sun.. 7 more games to go.!!!!!

Nuggets haven't been mentioned once this whole thread. Teams that do well in the playoffs are teams that play good after the all star break. The best teams since the all star game are the Lakers and the Nuggets, record wise. We have to regular season games coming up against OKC and there probably gonna be who we see in the first round so we'll see how that series goes after the two regular season games. Nuggets all the god dam way. Its gonna be LA vs. Den in the Western Semi-Finals and the winner of that is gonna go play Chicago in the finals. Fuck the Heat, fuck Boston, fuck New York. Chicago is most defiantly the best team in the east. Oh yeah and the team that is notorious for shutting down LA is Denver. So NUGS FTW!

the nuggets are not talked about cause they are a fast break- transitional team maybe if they used NENE to his full potential. but now your bigs are just hanging around for your shooters to miss. dont get me wrong George karl is one hell of coach. but when he went to the finals. that team was amazing.
in the half court they are poo my blazers took care of them no problem abiet a clutch shot from B-roy. i don't see the nuggets doing all that much in the play offs. and you have to play the thunder. and im pretty sure they own the series over you.

Hey Breadmold, don't start this shit again. Boston beat the spurs btw.

And when your Nugs lose in the first round, you'll hear from me again.

FUCK YEAH DUDE. I love the nuggets. way more after fuckin melo and billups left.. they slay and definatly have a chance at the finals if they push it hard. the OKC game is gonna be a big determining factor i think.. and i'm goin to see it at the pepsi center, so stoked. Nuggets slay, and are definatly an underestimated team!

We beat Boston and the Spurs in the last month with our "new look." I don't see your point. Trust me were hot. And lol to the Portland guy, theres no way you'd beat us in seven game series. One because we have a better record than you which means we'd have home court advantage and no one beats Denver at home. Were undefeated at home since the all star break so um yeah you'd loose for sure.

not trying to start an argument here, though im sure it will, but both boston and the spurs have been on a bit of a slide lately. the nuggets have definitely surprised me with their post allstar break run, wayyy better than i was expecting them to do. but i think them going to the western conference champs might be a little far. they will definitely give who ever they play in the first round a run for their money, and i could even see them making the second round. idk after that. as we all know, the lakers are a completely different playoff team than regular season team. same with the spurs.

KG is a Beast. I Dont Care what you say, he is an intense player who you dont want wearing the wrong color jersey.

Celtics To the finals for the East Coast for sure.

As for the West Coast, the Lakers have been dominating since the All Star Break. And as much as i hate to say it, it looks like another Lakers, Celtics Final this season, I hope im Wrong.
