Keep an eye on our live webcam this week to watch the setup being built. We should start building today. Despite the warm temps, we still have a huge base of snow. The one advantage about being a race hill...there is always a massive base of snow to use for spring terrain park events. (We should have good snow for the SmudFly too)

There is a chance we will go with all rails this weekend because of the warmer conditions..we will know for sure by Thursday.

We will have a great environment here on Saturday:

Live Music with an entertaining DJ; Red Bull arch, huge tent, and Red Bull girls; prizes from Welch Village, Salomon, and K2/Line. Don't forgot, this is not an evening event this year. Registration starts at 9am and practive starts at 10am. The waiver will be on welchvillage.com tomorrow for those of you who are under the age of 18.

Will any of the existing features still be up/open to hit tomorrow afternoon? Or is everything going to be closed/torn down until Saturday?

I want to come out and ski tomorrow, but if there won't be any park features, I may as well wait until Saturday...

There will be a couple rails on top tonight but the park will probably be closed Friday. The set-up from Saturday will be left on the hill for the public to use on Sunday.

So...due to the weather situation we are doing an all out rail set up. This is what it consists of...

1st Pad - 40 foot single barrel urban down rail and our huge kink rail set up short flat..long down

2nd Pad- Rainbow rail and 30 foot up box ( cannon style) ...should be able to go huge off of it.

(Sorry about the lack of a jump, it was just not possible with the weather we have been having)

Should be a good time, everyone come out. Since Hyland and most other resorts around are gonna be closed its worth coming on out!! See ya guys there!

Thanks to everyone who came out, I hope you all had a good time. Hopefully we will see more of you at our SMUDFLY competition on April 18th.

1st Place- Colten Welch ( winning run of 270 on, fs change, bs 270 out the 40 foot down handrail to bs 630 out of the cannon box)

2nd Place- Mike Mamalakis (double change up on kink rail to slight wash out to 270 on 450 out the cannon box)

3rd Place- Seamus Flanagan (Fs change up Pretz. 270 out the kink, swith on to pretz 450 out the cannon box)

(It was head to head format in the finals)

Also, John Featherstone was throwing misty 630's off of the cannon box, but just couldn't land his trick on the big kink rail so he was eliminated in the second round. Colten Welch was also throwing switch on to cork/flip 630 off the cannon box. Everyone threw down big, and it was a really great time! Wish more of you could have made it!
