2009 Invaders vs. Anthems

Im trying to pick between the 2009 Invader and 2009 Anthem,

I ski probably 75/25 park/mountain

Is the invader to soft for medium size kickers?

Are the Anthems to wide to be as good as the Invader playing around on small jibs?

....advise / opinions??

Anthems they are perfect for everything and have a soft feel when you wanna butter but a stiff feel on landings and for normal riding.

Id get anthems for more allround versatility unless you're doing super technical urban rail shit in which case the invader would be better and no the invader isnt too soft for medium jumps.

so the anthems have a prety soft flex. how is the flex compared to the invaders?

they're almost the same ski, the anthem is just a little beefyer.

well i did some pretty damn tech shit on rails and the anthems were absolutly fine and they will give you a better feel on landings then the invaders, they are worth the little bit of cash over the invaders believe me man.

Anthems are a really fun ski. I skied them all of last season and never had any problems. I didn't really do rails so I can't vouch for Anthems on rails but I'm sure they would be fine.

the Anthem are a great all around ski, invader's aren't going to be as good on big mtn skiing, don't worry about the wider width of the anthem in park you will get used to is so fast won't be an issue at all. the only difference is a small amount of weight that the anthems will be a little heavier

I was talking to a guy in a ski shop the other day and he said that alot of people were going for slightly shorter skis.

Im approx 5'10 and 165lb

In the anthem i have the choice of 171 or 178 - normally i would fall in between these size at 175/6.

Slightly longer or slightly shorter

Any advice?

im just a little bigger then you but i would also still recomend the 178 just because you will gain weight over winter both in muscle and fat cause of holidays and because of skiing. And idk how old you are but you may even grow some. I would chose a longer ski, but on the other hand the 171 will be easier to control and you may enjoy skiing it more so its all personal preference. I would still go with the 178 and if you do end up selling on here it will be alot easier to do that as well

Im 23 years young so i dont expect ill grow to much more..lol

I just want to make sure im not going to sink if i go for 171...i brought a snowboard that was way to short for me a few years ago and on anything but park it gets bogged down and is really slow...

hahaha okay, well i still think i would go with the 178, your probably the size i was when i started riding a 178. The anthem does ride like its alittle shorter just because of the soft feel when your playing around with it and they are deff a fast stiff ski when ya wanna move i think they are just a really good all around.

Anthem's got a sweet design, but i like invader's more.

Go for the 178's i'm the same as you, 5'10 160 lbs and i love my 178's

Anthems would be ideal for you. You will not in any way be dissapointed with the anthem.
