looking for a good all around ski for park, bumps, pipe and general ripping...anyone got a bit of insider info on this ski and if its a good fit...the price is damn nice!
T J Schiller was on 2007-2008 El Reys. He used them in some comps / big air. I heard he liked them. He got injured later in the season and when he came back to skiing he was able to get together with Corupt skis. TJ is full on pro aggressive and bigger / heavier than your spec.
El Rey is go do anything ski. It has a narrow waist compared to the tip and tail. Quicker reacting ski. Has a shorter turn / carve raduius than big mtn skis and some others. Has enough float for about 1 ft of fresh / pow - so not a pow ski. Can do park & pipe. This is a good general all mtn ski. It works well for that. Unless u specialize in something...
^ thanks for the insight...i had read a lil bit about the background of the ski and what not. it looks like a good ski but its been a while since i rode a cap ski, i never seemed to get much life out of the cap skis in the past. they always seemed to fall apart fast.
i think tj was on pipecleaners (seven sunny days) later the season he was injured. but nevertheless he love the el reys and made his 1440 at freestyle.ch
TJ used the El Rey for 1 comp around the time of its introduction. it was more to prove a point because the ski had been getting skepticism because of its vibe as a beginner's cheap entry level ski
