March 22nd @ Waterville Valley

J5 is not your typical slopestyle contest. Sure we'll have the triple line set up

but we'll build some crazy jibs from our junkyard....this is what we came up with last year!

$2k in prize money plus over $1k in product and the winner of the best trick goes skydiving for free!

you can get more information at http://snowboardwaterville.com and you can even pre-register there too!

See you at Dub-V for J5

we're not sure....what do you think? Did it work out well last year?

I think it's cool to have it rider judged, but it's hard to make sure it's done right.

Maybe the different jam heats can judge one another?

Rider just gets a lot of pull from friends it seems. I don't think it's necessarily a bad way to go about judging, but could play a big role in deciding who deserves finals/podiums...I think pre-limbs should be judged to qualify for the finals by judges and the finals should be judged by everyone who didn't make the finals...It seemed that everyone just gathered on the last jump and got a front row seat to really see who was throwing what during the finals. Pre-limbs, not everyone sees everything going on so it's hard to focus on whose doing good and who is not... just my opinion

I totally agree. Thanks for adding your 2 cents. I've got some really good judges and we'll come up with a cool way to judge the finals! Can't wait ... I hope its warm and sunny! Riding is going to be so sick!
