2007 Resolutions

I know it's early (19 days) but I figured it's time for me to start thinking instead of waiting till after the year starts. I've never actually made a serious resolution just because I think it's stupid and no one keeps them anyway, but I firgure I'll give it a try this year. Instead of the usual resolution that you try to follow over the year, however, my resolution will take much more time than that. There will be no end to my resolution, and possibly no way to determine if I actually succeeded.

So for the year 2007 and beyond, my resolution is to simply learn more. Learn not as in normal school education, rather learn what I want. I want to learn from and about people. I want to learn about what's important to me, not what's mandatory for millions of other teenagers to learn. Traveling, skiing, surfing, girls, the enviornment, whatever. I want to be able to tell people something they didn't know about a topic that they never learned about. When people talk about me I don't want them to say, "Keith is so smart, he must study all the time." I don't want to be considered book smart, I just want to learn through experience and then share what I have experienced.

I just want to be able to sit down at the end of every week or every month for the rest of my life, and be able to say, "What did I learn?" The internet alone has allowed me to learn so much in a small amount of time, but I want to go out an experience these things. Just through this website, I've read hundreds of stories about people's lives and experiences, and it's things like this that make me realize my life isn't as significant as I thought, and that I have much much more to learn and do.

So if you made it through my babbling on, I'd just like to see what everyone else hopes to accomplish for 2007 and beyond. Whether it be skiing or anything else, if I could get a few serious responses i'd be happy.

word. ive never actually thuoght about a new years resolution but i guess one of my goals this year is to learn corks. and to actually do my homework and stop procrastinating cause i seem to be really good at that.

quit smoking, it's so hard to do if you've never started, and people think you are awesome if you tell them you are trying to quit.

kinda nerdy, but i want to be Valedictorian. im close to it with 4.2... to tell you the truth i dont really try in school. i just have a sick memory and turn in homework with 2 weighted honors classes.
